yep, easy to say before the season it's not a priority
but by the time you see the team walk out at wembley, and especially when it's in extra time...
it matters then definitely
I wouldn't agree. It is a consolation trophy to any club with the standards of expectation like Liverpool. I know as a Man U fan I couldn't care less if they won anything but the League and Champions League. They just use the games as an opportunity to play the bench.
A win over Cardiff ---sorry but really who cares. Win or lose if it was Man U in that same position all I'd be thinking about is the games we blew to not win the League or Champions League. Because that would be the only reason they would have fielded a good enough team to win it.
Consolation trophy is better than nothing I guess but to me for the top clubs it's not that League and Champions League are a priority--they are rather what it's ALL about.

Actually I have a couple of buddies who are big Liverpool fans and at best they said it's better than nothing. And all they want, hope for, is a return to Champions League and having a shot at the Premier League title.
In fact, better than nothing, would seem to be the perfect description for it.

Of course we want to get back in the Champions League and to compete for the league, but if you can pick up a trophy for the first time in 6 years along the way, it's a lot better than nothing. I don't really care what some "fans" think, ask the players how much it means to win something. That feeling alone is worth winning a league cup.

Muamba went down with no one around him, medics from both teams ran on the field immediately and started trying to resuscitate him
from the bbc
Ian Dennis has also reported that Fabrice Muamba was being resuscitated for 10 minutes while he was lying on the pitch. He has now been stretchered off and I will bring you more news on his situation when I get it.
6.48pm ESPN have reported that Muamba collapsed face down. He was then turned onto his side and then his back, which is when attempts to resuscitate him began.
