Is it normal for tablets (like the new ASUS Transformer) not to have even a single USB port?

Yes.
In fact I can't think of any tablet that didn't fail outright that had one.
edit: I stand corrected, as the Prime apparently has one.

Right. My bad. It's the dock that has the USB.

Apparently there is an adapter you can get for the Asus Transformer series from ME for about$15. Not sure if they ever stocked them though.

Had an idea!

Anyone have the Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wifi version? I can get it for half price of what an Asus Transformer Prime costs.

2.0 is out for the Playbook today. It took roughly 20-30 minutes for the download and install for me. Includes email, calendar, print to go and I'm sure a bunch of other features that I haven't seen yet.

Perfect timing for me. I just started to test drive the wife's old 3GS this weekend and the lack of email on the Playbook would have been annoying.

I don't notice a huge difference, but I already had the beta thanks to this thread. I would say that if you bought a tablet for $200 though, this is a screaming deal now. Android apps are available (though more are yet to come) and they seem to have answered the problems. For RIM as a company the main thing is they did what they said they would...thats a big deal!

Except didn't they say os 2.0 would come out well before the new year initially? And didn't they say android apps and native email and all that would be available just after launch?
I am glad that they finally got the update out but saying RIM did what they say they would doesn't seem entirely correct sure they finally did it, but months and months after it was promised

I thought that the promised the beta before the new year and that they would roll out with OS 2.0 in February. First indications are that it is pretty good, I do like the ability to make folders on the home screen, allowing me to better organize the device.
The quality of the PDF reader is still poor at best though, I would have thought that RIM would be more focused on providing features like this in order to appeal to the business market, although Adobe is a third party so I can't really blame RIM that much for this, it would still be something that I think they should be working on.

It really shouldn't be a big deal though. They originally claimed it was coming in April 2011, it's been almost 10 months now I think? Heck, their competitors put out brand new phone models in that timeframe. No wonder they ate half a billion in losses on it last quarter.
That being said, initial impressions seem pretty decent but app support seems poor. Anybody also use iOS to compare app selection?

But isn't it always a big deal when a corpse is being defibrillated and that heart monitor starts beeping on its own again, even for just a few moments?

The heart isn't going. QNX phones were supposed to be here before January and now the leaked road maps show fall. They probably won't be out by next Christmas.

In a perfect scenario you would have RIM putting out the phone on time, however history has shown that rushing something to production as is the case with the Playbook, which was obviously rushed along leading to bad publicity and a lot of people not knowing anything about the tablet other than... don't you need to have a "Blackberry to make it work?" a question I was frequently asked after purchasing one.
If RIM is able to get it's newest phone whatever it is called out to market at a decent time and have it actually be a solid phone against the competition it would go a long way to restoring consumer faith in the product. Right now the brand itself is in some real trouble though if they are not able to do that because it does look as though they have fallen behind.
Granted opening up the App Store and getting more Android Developers is a great first step... Some more free (or at least equally priced) applications would be nice for the playbook.

I have this Tablet and absolutely love it. I don't know a lot about the Transformer Prime so I can't comment on that product.
I use my Galaxy Tab mainly for work and it has replaced the time I spend on my laptop by about 50%.
