Not only is this kid looking good, but he makes our new and improved scouting department look good. They appear to have found a top ten taken from 13. Very impressive. Not to derail, but as confidence goes up in the scouts, draft picks become more valuable.

I'm pretty sure he won't step in and be an impact player his 1st year, if he is then i guess we have a Jeff Skinner on our hands. If we develop him properly then he could develop into the dynamic offensive player in the NHL that he is right now in junior. Its all up to how well our management and coaching staff develops him.

All the more importance to surround him with some good players so he isn't carrying the team.

If this years team manages to make the postseason them next year we still will have Iggy, Tanguay, Jokinen, Cammaleri, Glencross Backlund etc... Baerchsi isn't going to be relied upon.

Feaster pointed out if Ryan Murphy wasn't going to be picked up at 12 by the Hurricanes they would be the ones to. Soooooo partial credit to the Hurricanes...

Bartschi with 2 goals barely into the 2nd period (one shorthanded).
Simply unreal right now. The Flames could use some shorthanded goals...

80 points in 40 games. Only 5 points away from matching his total from last year. What a beast!

I can't remember the last time I was so excited about a Flames prospect. Can't wait to see what he can do at the NHL level.

You would have to think if he didn't miss all of those game with injury then he'd be in the 100 point range right now

No doubt, would be good to get that curious monkey off the Flames back.
Every tv broadcast loves to trot out two things: the Flames are 30th in team faceoff percentage, and the Flames are the only team without a shorthanded goal.
Wasn't there a game in the last 10 where we scored a second or two after our guy came out of the box. I remember thinking, great we finally got one, shut up.

He'd be pretty damn close, he's missed 17 or 18 games and is still climbing up the points leader board. Up to 9th now (Ferland is 8th).

At 2 points per game, and another 15 games....Sven would have about 110 points or so.
The leader right now is Stone, with 101 points in 55 games.

Feels good to have two flames prospects in the top 10 of scoring in the WHL.

Yep.
FTR, Holland is currently 10th, so up until the Cammy trade we had three in the top ten.
Still glad we got Cammy though.

In 40 games this season, Baertschi has registered multiple-point-nights in 22, and has been held off the scoresheet in only five.

He's on a 10 game point streak, with 23 points in those 10 games (and still a period left in today's game).

I see him on the 2nd line
Tanguay - Backlund - Iginla
Bartschi - Jokinen - Glencross
Cammalleri - Horak - Moss
Jackman - Jones - TKO (the "no minutes line" given the top 3 lines could roll 18-20 minutes)
Extra: Byron, Bouma
Sucked into a black hole: Stajan
2nd line is great for him as he has 2 hard working, 2 way players who play both ends of the ice. Cammalleri making $6M on the 3rd line, but oh well...

I literally did a cartwheel when Feaster made that announcement last June...It's also great to see that Sven has bounced back well from that concussion he suffered at the WJHC tourney.

15 minutes: Horak - Backlund - Comeau
10 minutes: Jackman - Jones - TKO

No way Backlund is on the first line while Cammalleri plays on the third line. Switch them around and if Bartschi can adapt his game to the NHL quickly, not a bad top 2 lines.
