Hilarious! Craig Noone, just subbed on for Brighton apparently put the roof on Steven Gerrard's new house extension, now hes playing against him.
I love things like this, you keep on giving FA cup!

A glorious day for Brighton and Hove Albion, Liam Bridcutt scores two goals at Anfield! Unfortunately, both in the wrong net.
To be fair, not a whole lot he could have done on either of them. Pretty unfortunate for him, but the goals were the result of some Arsenal-esque defending and some decent buildup play.

Wow. Okay, just make it stop. Liverpool are winning, thats great, but Brighton played a really good game for the most part, the wheels just came right off in the second half.
I thought, Al-Abt aside, that Brighton put on a good and honourable performance, they dont deserve this. This is humiliating.

Not in this second half, it could have been a lot higher, they just missed (another ) penalty and Kuyt rang one off the bar. The score could have been even higher for Liverpool.

The first half was good, Brighton were defending really well and their midfield was working effectively, I dont know what Poyet told them at halftime, but he'd better throw that speech in the trash.
I see the second half as the Brighton midfield effectively quitting and allowing Liverpool to run at their back 4 with pace and forcing errors.

Is anyone watching this Liverpool vs Cardiff Carling Cup game?
Liverpool pulled head just about halfway through ET and Cardiff just equalized with 2 mins left in ET.
On a side note I notice that the winner gets an entry to Europa League. I've heard some posters on CP diss the Europa because it isn't as prestigious and that they'd rather their team focus on the EPL in hopes of securing a CL spot. I guess I'm just curious, in a ranking of importance where does the Carling Cup rank to you guys? What about Europa? I know there are a few Liverpool fans on here. Are you ecstatic if they win this game? Crushed if they lose? Don't give a crap?
Based on my understanding it would be something like CL/EPL at the top, followed by the FA Cup? then Europa and Carling Cup?
No one actually cares about stuff like the FIFA club world cup do they? Or what about the one off games like the Community Shield? Are they just glorified exhibition games? What about the EUFA Super Cup?

For the big clubs yep that would be the order, importance between CL/PL would depend on if they had won one in the past (i.e Chelsea would value the CL a lot more right now)
club world cup is big for south american teams, not so much for Europe
Community shield is a glorified exhibition
Super Cup same thing

That makes sense. I'm not saying that Liverpool didn't care but obviously that would've been crazy good for Cardiff. I would imagine there is a fair amount of revenue they would have liked from having a shot in Europa next year, not to mention winning Carling Cup. I would imagine that Liverpool are more concerned at returning to European elite status by getting back in the CL and competing for the EPL title.

What a fantastic game that was. I went out to the pub to watch it so there was a great atmosphere, which beats the heck out of watching at home by myself. That was an incredible, drama filled game right to the end.
As you guys are saying, the Carling Cup isn't exactly high on the list of importance for any of the major clubs, but when that game starts it sure as heck feels awfully important. This is especially true for a Liverpool team who haven't won anything in 6 years. Well done lads!

yep, easy to say before the season it's not a priority
but by the time you see the team walk out at wembley, and especially when it's in extra time...
it matters then definitely
