Default Family Day 2012

What's everyone up to for family day this year?

Has anyone been to the new penguin exhibit at the zoo? Have been thinking about going down but it might be insanely busy.

I was able to take the kids down on Wednesday for an early viewing. It was part of our Inspire membership. The Penguins and the exibit are very cool, but I would avoid it for a few days at least. I suspect it is going to be insane and the path thru the enclosure is not great for large crowds.

We will be skiing which wil be equally insane!!

Taking the dog to the off leash park with the family. Hopefully avoiding the large crowds!

The company I work for gives us the choice of working and then using the stat on any other day of the year that we want to have our own personal family day on. I'm going to wait until summer to use it.

Penguin exhibit? Is that a good place to pick up chicks? Because nothing says Family Day like banging dirty skanks!

Yeah, I was down at the penguin exhibit during the member previews earlier in the week, and it's definitely one of the coolest exhibits at the zoo... You can get so close up that you could reach out and touch them, not that you should. But like BEANZ says, it's going to be really crowded this weekend. If you are going to do it, I'd recommend getting there right around opening time (not sure when that is on Monday).

Not sure how many dirty skanks you will come across - lots of chubby white mothers who have just given birth! (outside of the glass)

A friend went to the zoo this afternoon and it was a two hour wait to see these guys......I'll just rent march of the penguins instead, if I can find it somewhere....

I thought you said you were never getting married? Or was that post meant to make it seem like you weren't married the way THE SCUD was?

You make it too easy.

I didn't even know Family Day was coming up. Just another day for me, nothing special planned.

Took in the new science centre. Great for kids... I didn't really feel it was that great for adults though, or science learning, but the kids loved it, so we'll probably go back again sometime. Maybe I missed a floor or something though, but it just seemed like a lot of hands-on exhibits without descriptions or explanations.

Tomorrow will be a day in Kananaskis for Delta's Family Day activities, which are usually a good way to spend a day.

I'll probably wake up at noon and clean the house for a while. Then I'll watch a movie an surf the internet. Everyday is family day when you're unemployed.
