My take on the Lin-sanity is that at this stage he would be better off coming off the bench. He plays with high energy but are little turnover prone. Sometimes he likes to force the issue that contributes to making bad passes. He has good mid range jump shots especially coming off the screen but he's not a good catch and shot shooter. The player he closely resembles is JJ Berea and he has better ball handling skill than Berea.

D'Antonie's helter-skelter offensive system is a big factor to his success so far and he should look up to Steve Nash/Stockton/Mark Price's play to mold his game further.

Come off the bench for who though? Shumpert? The Knicks don't have anyone else who can competently play PG.

Come off the bench???

I don't know any California high school champ that comes off the bench?

I don't know any Harvard grad that comes off the bench?

I don't know anyone that dropped 38 on Kobe that comes off the bench?

Was this supposed to make sense? It doesn't.

Hahahaha, Love it. AI has said so many absurd things it's become impossible to keep track of them all.

Speaking of AI......he's broke

Allen Iverson has reportedly gone from 11-time NBA all-star to financial deadbeat. The Philadelphia 76ers icon was recently ordered to pay over $860,000 to a jeweler, and he couldn't cut a check.

I'm now firmly on the Lin bandwagon.

Jesus christ. This is amazing.

I didn't watch much of the game today and only caught the end. I like the story the guy has brought to the Knicks, but am completely skeptical of the guys' ability. Undoubtedly he's a very smart guy (his degree speaks for itself), but his playing ability is lacking in quite a few areas. Now it's possible because of his background he was overlooked by many, but lets not forget he's had his chances with 10 day contracts with NO (IIRC), and guys like him rarely consistently put up great numbers. What he's done so far is pretty remarkable, but count me among the guys who aren't buying his starting ability (yet).

Lin has caused me to watch basketball highlights for the first time since Jordan retired.
From the perspective of someone who doesn't care about the NBA at all, Linsanity is very exciting stuff.

Living in Taiwan, Linsanity is freaking NUTS here. I'd be surprised if there was anywhere outside of New York that was going this bonkers for the guy. Knicks games are on TV everywhere, every newspaper is leading with Lin stories. At my school today I was sitting on my computer watching hilites and EVERY kid in the school gathered around to watch and they were all jumping and high-fiveing when he hit that winning shot.

really?

There's been way more exciting stuff than Jeremy Lin in highlights and this is coming from a guy that doesn't like the NBA and is pulling for Jeremy Lin.

The Lin stuff seems to be out of nowhere, which is cool.

I gotta ask, what the hell is it going to take to convince you?

I'm not sure what relevance his past tryouts have, the criticisms were his lack of a shooting touch (seems he's found that), his inability to go left (he doesn't do it that much, but he can) and other nitpicky critiques. Unlike a lot of guys Lin wen out and worked his ass off on the areas he was deficient, the fact that he was once not good at certain things has no bearing on what he's doing now.

Over his last 5 games he is averaging 27.2 pts (tied with Westbrook for the league lead) and 8.8 assists to 2.6 turnovers, and he did it while playing with Tyson Chandler and 3 guys who leave most people saying "who?". Oh, he also did it in games against Kobe and John Wall. The Knicks also went from a team on the way to the basement to a playoff team.

His stats will likely come down a bit (I imagine Carmelo will see to that) but if you're not buying it now you haven't been paying attention. The guy isn't the greatest player in the league and the hype is overblown for a variety of reasons, but he's legit.

I would rather see that than Lin chucking up 20 shots and hoping that may 6 or 7 of them go in.

Yep, .489 from the field, good for 6th in the league among guards.

Glad to see you're keeping up your habit of not having the least bit of a clue as to what you're talking about.

How do I have no clue about what I am talking about?

He was 9-20 (so I was off by 2) last night and 8-24 the night before.

What do you think a good shooting percentage is for a guard? His numbers put him among the best in the league in that category.

Btw, what highlight show do you watch that shows every single shot a player takes?
