I know these is a few days old but I just got around to looking at the NBA All-Stars. I have say WTF to Andrew Bynum being named a starter? Really? Kevin Love should be one the one starting in his place. Also a whole lot of LA in the West for starters.

In addition to that, it's the weird fact that you vote for two guards, two forwards, and one center. So you couldn't vote for Love over Bynum... the other west centers are guys like Marc Gasol, Nene, DeAndre Jordan, etc.

SEATTLE (AP) -- The city of Seattle has been working behind the scenes the past eight months with a hedge-fund manager to bring an NBA team back to town - possibly as early as next fall if the Sacramento Kings fail to get a satisfactory deal for a new arena, newly released documents show.
|
Quote:
The city turned over the documents to The Seattle Times on Friday under a public records request. The documents included the agenda for a meeting between the parties on Dec. 13, with topics including "Review of Basic Deal Structure," "City Debt Capacity" and "Financing Issues."

One of the storylines I'm enjoying this season is just how bad the Charlotte Bobcats are. It's not just that they're 30th in the league, it's that they're near the bottom of just about every statistical category: 29th in points for, 29th in points against, 26th in rebounds, 28th in rebounding differential, 29th in steals, 25th in 3point percentage, 21st in assists per game, 28th in shooting percentage, 28th in opponent shooting percentage. The only category they're respectable in is blocks at 5th in the league, but this is offset in that they're 3rd in the league in opponent blocks. They've lost by more than 30 points 5 times already.
I think we'll need to wait until the midpoint in the season (about 9 games from now) before we can start really watching their pace to see how they compare with other historically bad teams, but their ineptitude in every measurable way suggests that they're in good shape to keep close to their current .125 pace, putting them in the bottom 10 of all time.
Of course, this is all probably extremely bad karma for me as they have yet to play the Raptors (their first game is Feb 17), but I'd far prefer the Raptors' current situation to the Bobcats', regardless of what happens head-to-head.

The worse thing about the Bobcats is that they have about 0 decent pieces to build with to go along with their horrible team.
Washington is crap as well but at least they have John Wall who could form a really good pair if they get a good big man this draft.
Charlotte is building with basically nothing right now.

Just some ugly, ugly drafting by that team mixed with some bad luck, and the fact that they fell into the trap of drafting in that 8-12 range in the NBA which just kills you due to a lack of talent in their drafts.
Drafted Okafor 2nd after Howard in 2004.
Drafted Felton 5th after Deron Williams, and Chris Paul went 3/4 in 2005.
To think with some luck they could have had a Chris Paul or Dwight Howard core to build around.

Not the one...

I remember arguing with a friend that Okafor should be taken 1st overall (instead of Howard).
Luckily he's nice enough to only mention it when I bring it up.

Any love for Jeremy Lin -- 38 points against Kobe and the Lakers for his fourth straight 20+ point game (all Knick wins).

Just my hunch when Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire come back his point totals will go down, but I suspect the assists to still be there for him.

I think Amare would actually fit in really well. Much different story for Carmelo.
Also Lin might have done even more magic, by hopefully getting Jason Whitlock fired for his tweet tonight about him.

nah bigotry against Asians is the second most accepted form of bigotry (after bigotry toward religious groups). Kind of ridiculous. "Yellow Mamba," really? Penis jokes? Don Imus should be pissed.

That team is so much better without Carmelo

Charlotte is all kinds of bad. They are on pace to finish with the 2nd-worst win percentage in NBA history. 14 game losing streak and counting with Philadelphia, Minnesota, and Toronto, on tap these week. And in that 14 game losing streak they have not scored 100 too.

Floyd Mayweather is a huge racist jackass that is all.

Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he's Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don't get the same praise.

Ben Tomkins- Is there a possibility Jeremy Lin in on steroids?
Floyd Mayweather- No no not at all. All I am saying is that before Jeremy Lin can play against Kobe or Lebron, he must take the test. It’s that simple. If you’re the best take the test

The source for the first quote is Mayweather's twitter, so no grains of salt needed.
The guy is a f'in moron. Black players do what Lin is doing do they? Okay Floyd, please name me the last black player, or player of any race, to go from the D-league to starting PG of one of the most followed teams in the league in a matter of days, lead them to a 5 game winning streak, beat Kobe and John Wall head to head in the process, do it without the 2 superstars on his team, and turn around what was looking to be a disastrous season for his team.
Floyd Mayweather goes out of his way to prove he is an imbecile.

The funniest part of Mayweather's tweet was PacMan had one just moments before that said God Bless Jeremy Lin
