Default Tassimo recall

Just a heads up that some Tassimo's have a part that needs to be replaced (they send it to you in the mail) and some of the T-discs may be faulty.

I love a good frenchpress coffee but if you just want one cup of coffee that's a huge pain in the ass.

I have one, will send off for the part. A few times the t-disc have hissed and I thought they would pop. But 99% of the time it's worked great.

Thanks for the heads up.

Not really. 3-4 teaspoons of coffee and fill up 1/3.

March 3, 2011, Burlington, Ontario – IKEA Canada has initiated a recall on the FÖRSTÅ coffee/tea maker. Pressure from the metal holder on the glass pot can potentially cause it to break unexpectedly, posing a burn hazard.

Mine is part of the recall as well. No T-DISCs affected, however.

Yeah, mine is one of the ones affected. I knew my mother in law had it out for me! Clever though....killing me with a faulty coffee brewer.

Why do you think it's called "cheaply built?"

Recalls aside, which is better--the Tassimo or Keurig?

I have a Tassimo at home and a Keurig at work and while I like them both the same as far as the coffee goes, we have had to replace the Keurig at work twice already. Could just be bad luck though.

There's a good thread about both machines here: http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=97119

I have a Keurig and like it, but Tassimo folks seem to like theirs too.
