Don't know where to put this, but I was disappointed to learn that this will be House's final season.

Better to end it while it's still compelling TV than to hang around until it Jumps the Shark and becomes a mockery of itself.

What are everyone's thoughts on The River?

I thought the premier was pretty good.

Is it still?

I had most of last season and all of this season on my PVR. When my PVR went crazy and reformatted I have been in a rush to get the episodes and watch them again.

House had a great run though.

Interesting style and premise but if they do it wrong I think it could get old in a hurry.

The premiere was good but not grab-you-good.

But I like Bruce Greenwood's acting so I hope they utilize him a little more. His son kind of got on my nerves but that may have been his looks (######y) more than his character.

I still enjoy it every bit as much as the earlier seasons.

The format of the show is what it is -- illness, wrong theory, wrong theory, wrong theory, wrong theory, magical insight leading to correct diagnosis -- but the relatively regular infusion of interesting new supporting characters (I like both Park and Adams, this year's new docs) and their storylines and interactions, combined with interesting new cases each week, keep it compelling for me.

Indeed. I'm enjoying House now as much as I have at any point in the series.

No idea what else I'm going to watch with SVU likely ending soon as well.

Seriously?

The amount of amazing television on right now is ridiculous. Just in the last two months I've started watch Mad Men and Justified.

Start there, or with Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Parks and Rec, or etc etc etc...

I can't get into many shows. It took me a while to even get into House and SVU. Particularly, they aren't shows I need to watch from the beginning to understand.

I think why I stopped watching House (and SVU) is because their are just too many episodes a season. I love 13 episode seasons of things. Long enough to enjoy, but not long enough that starting it seems intimidating.

Well, I guess I'm the complete opposite.

Anything less than 20 episodes in a season is a farce.

I wasn't going to tune in, didn't seem like my kind of show. However, there was nothing else worth checking out so I flipped it on. I thought it was a mini-series, but I guess it's going to be ongoing. I'll be interested to see where it goes, and how it can maintain the thrill/horror factor over the course of several seasons.

It looks like in the second episode Lincoln cuts his hair. Maybe that will help you out.

No kidding. Some of the best series are, at most, 13 episodes long per season. It's frustrating because you want more...and maybe we are conditioned to. But at the same time it's like they make the most of an abbreviated season...that or they cut out all the crap and concentrate on only the good stuff.

I didn't even know SVU was still on the air to be honest. I used to watch that show religiously, but it became old and stale to me. Law and Order stopped doing it for me I guess.

Maybe the last case will finally be lupus or sarcoidosis.

I will definitely miss House, M.D. but at the same time, the show has run probably run its course. I know it's been said a thousand times, but Hugh Laurie's acting continues to amaze me.

The show really lost a lot when Cuddy left and Foreman took over as House's boss. Just isn't the same. And Wilson wasn't even in that last episode. The relationships between Wilson, House and Cuddy are what made the show for me. Just not the same anymore. Last year should have been the last season really.

They deny it, of course, but it is so obviously a rip off I just can't watch.

Really? I love Fables, I'm on volume 12. I heard the show was better than Grimm which I sort of watched (was mediocre at best). I'll check it out in the summer when I actually have some time.

I've been saying for a few years that I believe a lot of the reason people aren't going to as many movies these days is the quality of TV just keeps going up and up. I'm not that old, but I wouldn't hesitate to say that TV has never been better.
