It was insane the amount of Subway commercials they had on there. Every break. You think their sales department could find a couple more clients or something.

It's not so much missing American commercials as it is having to deal with the over-repeated ones on CTV. That and the sometimes endless bumpers for CTV shows.

I don't know what people are complaining about a girl getting someone to offer her a seat then naming her baby after them is a great commercial and totally realistic. Plus by the twentieth commercial supporting Castle and the Mentalist I realized I had to watch these shows. Thanks CTV!!!

This is the first year here in Edmonton where CTV isn't sim-subbed through Toronto anymore, meaning for the first time, we won't get the U.S. Super Bowl commercials up here. I'm pretty bummed by it.
Can they at least bring back turtleneck guy for the expected 7,000 Canadian Tire commercials?

Your whining is contributing to you guys missing out on a wonderful opportunity.
Pick an oft-repeated commercial/trailer and incorporate it into a drinking game.

Then see if any of you are man enough to remember the score in the morning.

I don't think most people would make it past the first half if that game was played out!

For public safety reasons the CTV quick commercials that promote their shows would be exempt from this game.

You know the ones. With the stormtroopers running down the street and it is nothing but music with no voiceover?

The commerials will all be on YouTube 15 seconds after the game is done. Thanks to the crappy Canadian commercials, I can grab a beer or let my dog out for a piss.

It is a pretty ####ed up world when people watching one of it's great sporting events are freaking out because they can't watch commercials.

Well, the program is four hours long, and there's only 60 minutes of playing time. With all the talking and the halftime show, there's probably another hour of actual content, but that leaves two hours of commercials. Two hours of stupid, overplayed Canadian commercials. Luckily there's a mute button on the remote.

My solution to that is to incorporate the overplayed commercials into a drinking game.

The winner is the guy who can remember the score in the morning.

Ha! Just saw I posted this a few months ago as well.

Like 4X4 said, when there is close to 2 hours of commercials, I'd rather be watching entertaining commercials than seeing over 100 CTV promos for Smash, The Voice, and other crappy shows.

The worst thing about all those CTV promos is their big voice guy. Using a deep voice like that to promote such innane dreck makes it ten times worse.

It's not even about that even. It's that I'm not getting the station that I paid for.

If I'm watching something on an American channel, I expect the viewing as intended on the american channel, not a Canadian one which is a completely difference channel.

I am slingboxing the game so I can`t be sure, but did CTV cut to commercial early when they showed the replay of JPP getting injured?
Keep track of any issues like that, and be sure to complain to the CRTC.
