Are we that simple?
This doesn't make sense. Are we that simple? No, but they had to pick something, and they picked the most popular thing in Canada.

When they do football commercials in the States, do Americans respond by saying "Are we that simple?". No, they just know that football is really popular in their country and makes for a good commercial for beer company, considering the demographic that drinks beer. It has nothing to do with being simple.

Moving back to Canada, my wife and I have noticed the absolutely ridiculous amount of hockey-related commercials here. Almost every commercial here has either a Hockey, Sidney Crosby, or "it's cold here" angle to it...some have all 3.

There's no need for foreigners to stereotype Canada....Canada does plenty of it to itself.

Hell, as long as it's not a Telus commercial, I'm happy.

I have to say, as much as this seems staged and more than a little contrived, if it was real then that would be awesome.

Reminds me of those Improv Everywhere skits.

Must be a long day at work cause I read the title of this thread:

"Budweiser gives 2 rec hockey teams the game for their lives"

would've given Budweiser more publicity if you ask me

But if you guys want to be touched by a publicity stunt go for it. I bet you guys love spontaneous dances in malls as well.

Where's the anger? Just trying to figure what about this would cause you too be so apparently bothered. It's not the greatest commercial, kinda fun but a bit cheezy, just not sure what warrants the immense amount of bitterness.

If puckluck thinks it's a stupid idea, Budweiser can laugh all the way to the bank knowing it was a good idea. That's all the validation they could need.

Who is bitter? I stated it was lame. Nobody but yourself seems bothered. I said "that's just me though". If you like it, that's fine I'm not about to stoop to your condescending level.

As the rest of your team doesn't even notice you're gone. Wouldn't even have to pay me for that experience!

Jeez dude, it was a commercial for a beer. Of course it was a publicity stunt. You're like that annoying uncle that no one wants to invite to Christmas dinner because they are basically a major dick and put everything and everyone else down even though they live in Forest Lawn and drive a 72 Pinto on their way to work at the bottle depot.

Was it the best commercial ever in the history of TV advertising - no. Was a cute 2 minutes that tugged at the Canadian heart strings some - sure. Enjoy life dude.

They are two legit teams, more info in this article.

Really cool commercial and well executed. I see people are responding to puckluck's trolls, nothing to see here .

If the only thing I had to do was be a temporary shill for a beer company, and in return I got, a full professional broadcast, full bleachers with hot puck bunnies, and a mascot with a T-shirt gun, I will sign up 11 times out of 10. That would have been a blast. I would probably be a bud drinker for life after too...lol.

Lucky guys.
