Both rumors got started on twitter accounts by people calling themselves experts with no media, or MLB credentials. Not sure I'd believe anything just yet although I'm quite a jaded fan after the whole Darvish experience

I think it is a good move for the Tigers to sign him and who cares if you overpay a bit with the money they have but seems odd to go to that length when it appears nobody else is in that range.
Still you need good players to win in the MLB and Fielder is a good player now and likely for the next 7-10 years at least, especially in the AL with the DH.

For this year I bet one will DH most of the time unless Miggy is in real good shape and can handle third. When V-Mart comes back late this year or next year, he has to DH so I'm betting they're hoping Miggy can transition over to third easily.
