Ya, I could be mistaken, but didn't the initial report say she was wearing a hotel wristband? That means she had a resort hopper pass, which means she was out partying. Could've met someone shady while she was oot & aboot, who followed her back.

Who really knows though, good to hear she woke up. Hopefully this is all solved soon.

Of all the amazing places you can visit, I don't get why people visit that s-hole anyway. Oh wait... because for $699 all in you can fly down and drink your face off for a week. This is the price people are paying to get a 'deal'. Mexico is such a dump. Been there once, and that was one too many times. There is so many other places you can go.

The Mexican all in vacation is such a lame cliche now.

I stayed at that resort a few years before it happened. Seemed like a nice place at the time, never going back though.

So you went down once and based on that the whole place is a s-hole? That's a pretty damn broad brush you have.

If you actually read the articles, yes they had insurance.

The couple had purchased travel insurance for their trip. Friends have set up a trust fund to help cover any extra costs incurred by the hospital stay.

Sounds like they had insurance, the article says the donations are for "expenses not covered by insurance."

Kinda ambiguous, but I guess this means they have some sort of coverage?

^ People really like their cheap vacations.

Regardless, good to hear she's getting (a little) better.

I dunno, being one of the CP 1%ers, maybe I have better taste in where I travel, besides drug ravaged, booze fest countries. The ONLY reason people travel there, is because it is cheap.

I agree with Pylon. Mexico is just not appealing when there are so many other options out there.

I actually agree with your general point, but christ you're an ass about it.

Huh? I had a wristband when I was in Mexico and I did not have the "Resort Hopper Crazy Party Animal" deal. I guess I got ripped off, or, you have no idea wtf you are talking about.

Maybe its different there. I've only been to Mexico once (Cabo) and Cuba once, and both times those wristbands meant "resort hopper" passes, which is what all the youngins were doing. Just speculating, like everyone in this thread. Thanks for being a DB about it though.

Thats cool, its not appealing for you.

Its appealing for me, not a long plane ride, cheap and i've always had a fun time there. The staff have always been polite and friendly and my interactions with locals have been great.

But apparently people ONLY travel there because its cheap - pylon
