I just did a marathon watching of the 4th season of Heroes. I think the 2nd and 3rd seasons caused the whole franchise to be overrated, but the 4th season was definitely was underrated.. I really liked it, but I wonder if Robert Knepper can ever play anything other than sleezy trailer park trash-kind of characters.

The Monday night Showtime lineup is great.

Shameless-Probably the most underrated show on TV right now. Emmy Rossum is amazing and isn't afraid to show some skin. It's funny and doesn't really care who it offends. Definitely recommend.

House of Lies-Brand new show starrtng the very good Don Cheadle. He plays a very slick management consultant who along with his "pod" use unconventional methods to get their job done. It's another no holds barred kind of comedy, doesn't hold back.

Californication-Solid

Saw these also last night, really liked Shameless. Saw it a couple of months ago and didn't know what it was. Loved the talk the Dad gave to his son walking down the street about why he should be happy he's alive.

The Don Cheadle one I liked also, but could see it wearing thin pretty quickly, but that's just me.

I've seen some of the UK version of Shameless and frankly it doesn't compare to the Showtime version.

Macy, as always, is so good. One of the best shows on TV right now for sure.

Yep, and it's a show no one ever talks about. I hope the ratings keep the show alive, because there's not much buzz about it when there should be. It's so good.

No offense, VANFLAMESFAN ...but has your skin ever seen the sun?

I've never encountered a bigger cinephile / TV-phile in my life.

I do appreciate your analyses, however ... so cheers to that.

Over-rated:
Jersey Shore (sickening)
Dancing with the Stars
American Idol
My So Called Life (by critics IMO)
The Pacific (was expecting Band of Brothers I guess, but just didn't connect)

Under-rated:
Brothers and Sisters (incredible show that was cancelled)
Desperate Housewives (Fantastic writing, but ratings dropped over the years)
The League (Hilarious)
Rome (HBO series- not sure if it cost too much to continue but I will always adore it)

Sun? What is this sun you speak of?

Anyone ever catch the BBC's Sherlock?

The first series is on Netflic, only three episodes, but if Sherlock Holmes stories are your thing it's a big recommend.

Not sure if serious about Jersey Shore; sure the thing gets good ratings some how, but it is UNIVERSALLY slammed as a piece of absolute dog s*** show.

With that said, ITS T-SHIRT TIME!!

Yeah, I don't think any of the show's die hard fans would consider it a "good" show. It's absolutely disgusting, but I can't stop watching.

None of these three are highly rated by anybody, except Nielsen.

I was happy to see YTV rerunning Friday Night Lights, its an amazing show with just solid witing and great acting.

I would argue that Chuck is over rated by its fan base, after a strong first coupla seaons its really dragged won in terms of quality and story line.

Under rated - Angel - Was always considered to be the poor brother of Buff the Vampire Slayer, but I think that the storylines and scripts and acting were better, it also had a much better final season

Star Wars the Clone Wars - Hardly a kids cartoon anymore and probably is better in terms of story line then the trilogies, the voice acting is solid

Over rated - Star Trek TNG - To be honest, I think this show was fluff, the ship was ugly, and in later seasons it should have had an open theme of

"Its the data show
He's a android
Its the data show
He had sex with Yar
Oh ohhh that data"

I loved Battlestar Galactica, but it really got lost half way through the run and tried to out clever itslef

Lost another over rated show, while the acting and the mood and the concept originally were great, I think even the script writers lost their way and delivered one of the crappiest season ending epsidoes sinc

Seinfeild - Massively over rated, while they had brilliant funny moments, for the most part the characters were just too mean spirited to enjoy.

which leads to Friends - Come on the show was absolute garbage, I wanted to punch Ross in the face and jam his broken body into the garbage disposal. Singularly unfunny and as repetative as the Simpsons has become.

I've actually like the season so far, I read some interviews that next year is going to be a whole new level of dark leading to Anakin's fall.

The big question is the fate of Ashoka at the end of this series.

I'm kinda hoping that they get permission to carry this series of after the endof the clione Wars and order 66.

The plus is that Anakin is not the cry baby that he was in the prequel movies, he's strong, has a good wit and he's done a couple of outright murders in the name of peace.

begin rant
The prequel movies should never have been made. It was better to imagine what happened in these fabled "clone wars" or the transformation of Anakin to Vader than see it in sinful CGI.
end rant

Anyway, the Clone Wars to date have been a bit of a let down from last season. I can't exactly put my finger on it, some of the episodes have been a bit too silly, and the last episode's scenes with R2D2 reminded me more of Wall-E than Star Wars.

After reading the Plageus novel, I have a better appreciation of the Phantom Menace in a lot of ways, and way more appreciation for Palpatine/Sideous, and how devious the guy really is.

It actually made the Sith based events of the pt a lot better.

There were certain aspects that I really liked about the PT. I did like the Sideus angle, I remember in the ROTS novel Dooku musing that the Sith saw the force as a event horizon, a dark unstoppable power, the Jedi saw the Force as a window looking out on a calm field. Sideous sad the force as a window of opportunity where he was peering in at the Jedi and using that power to destroy them.

I liked a lot of the action footage in the PT

The whole Sifo Dyas creating the Clone armies makes a ton of sense now, as did the events that started the downfall of the jedi.

I like that Lucas knew that Jar Jar was enough of a hated character that he made him responsible for the final stages of the Sith plan for revenge.

I liked the idea of a clone army.

When I read ROTS I wish that they had time to do the fall of Anakin instead of rushing it, the Palpatine seduction in the books was far far better.

I am a fan of the Clone wars, I liked the Jedi falls trilogy that they just completed and liked the Slave story line. The two story arch around the droids was fairly light hearted and fluff. The Tarkin trlogy I thought was outstanding and really defined Anakin as heading to a place where the Jedi can't follow, and you can already see the type of jerk that Tarkin is going to be.

They amped up the darkness a lot this season. This last episode with the Death Watch was the first time that I have seen mass jedi on living thing killing, that wasn't based around clones. And the fight scene between Ashoka and the Death Watch Commander was really well done.
