Single blade disposable razors.
Why the hell are these so hard to find? I friggen hate the double, triple , quadruple blades because they just jam up with whiskers and you spend an extra 10 minutes shaving because you have to constantly unjam the blades or you don't get an even shave. Sometimes more is NOT better.

f*** one blade! What do you have the face of a ten year old boy? I'll use one blade, if I want to spend the next hour cutting up my face going over the same spot again, and again, and again.

You're a sick man if you can somehow shave better with one blade. A sick, sick man.

But yes. Safety razor is the way to go. One blade, close shave and you live on the constant threat of killing yourself from one mistake.

I'm so jealous of people who can get away with one blade or electric razors and get a complete shave out of it. Just about to get out of bed and I haven't shaved since Wednesday, was just thinking about how much I don't wanna do it, always so slow going when I've waited 4-5 days. Rough life.
And that single blade above looks terrifying. Guaranteed I'd clip my adam's apple.

Where (preferably in Vancouver or online) could one acquire a safety razor?
Razor blades (along with HDMI cables) are one of the greatest ripoffs of the day. I put off buying new blades every time my supply runs out, because it's just so offensive to pay $3 per blade for a product that likely costs about 4 cents to make. It's about time I got on this safety razor train.

^ This. The concept of having to shave with a cheese grater (3+ blades) is a Madison Avenue invention and is patently absurd. Men got close shaves with single blades and soap brushes for centuries long before Gillette, et al, established television marketing departments. A ripoff through and through.

I have a three-blade razor and cut myself exactly never. They're awesome. Are safety razors that "safe"?

I get my stuff from http://www.fendrihan.com, just ordered a pack of 100 blades at a price of about 20¢ each. At about a blade a week it should last me about two years at a total cost of $20.
Beats the hell outta paying $20 for 8 mach 3 cartridges.
The only real "downside" to the traditional blades is you need to take a bit of extra care in deposing of them. Namely pitching them in the garbage can is a risk to whomever empties the garbage can or if you have kids/pets that may get into the trash.
So you need a blade bank of sorts, I use an old Altoids tin which I keep in a drawer in the bathroom. Once it's full (which will be years from now) I'll just tape it shut with packing tape and pitch that.

I believe westcoastshaving.com is based in Vancouver.
I also use Rasage Poulin here in Calgary, and Fendrihan's

Their called "safety" razors because when they came out they were replacing traditional straight razors. So yeah, when you compare it to this, it is indeed a safety razor:
Having said that, with a big of extra time & care they are quite safe, I nick myself pretty rarely these days, and if I do it's usually a sign that I need to change blades.

if you are looking to extend the life of your multiple blade razors look into purchasing a razorpit ( www.razorpit.ca) - i use one and it does extend the life of your blades a bit.
as an aside, i was at a seminar a couple of years back and one of the speakers was a guy that used to work at gilette and he was telling me that when they initially launched their 3 blade shaver sales were initally good, but then tapered off. while at the same time sales of the two blade razor slowed down then picked up - in order to correct this, they made a change to the manufacturing process and made it so the two blade razor was not as sharp - and things corrected themselves somewhat......
it is only a matter of time until they release a 10 or 12 blade shaver.....so in my mind they should quit upping the ante one blade at a time....
one other note, superstore sells a "no-name" version of a 5 blade razor - it is priced at a point a lot less than the offerings from both shick and gilette...

The Superstore one rips the s$$$ out of your face though. I tried it and went to the Fusion instead. The blades last longer and don't tear the hair out by the roots the first time you use the rasor.

What are you mocking multiple blades for? Don't even settle for Mach 3, be macho and mach more.
