Holland had an assist...

... and none of our other prospects did anything.

Max Power scored the shootout winner in Kootenay's 2-1 win over Red Deer.

From an article that was written yesterday:

Quote:
Bartschi, skated with the team during practice Monday and Tuesday, but wasn’t cleared for contact until Thursday. He isn’t expected to play Friday, but could return in time for either Saturday’s game at Seattle or Monday’s home game against Tri-City.

"So that (Thursday's practice) will be the first, but it will be a quick step," Johnston said. "If he handles contact really well, the way he's handled everything else this week on the ice, then I'd anticipate within two, three, four or five days he could probably play."

A little bummed tonight with Holland being moved to the Canadiens system. I will miss filling in the CP'ers on his games and stats! Here is wishing him the best of luck in Montreal!

Good luck to Holland in Montreal. Enjoyed watching him in the young stars tournament and enjoyed reading what others have had to say about him.

Interesting note: While Bartschi has been injured, Rattie's points have returned more to his standard with much more emphasis on assists and fewer goals.

I think Bartschi might be a better goal scorer than his stats indicate. It's just the chemistry between him and Rattie that turns him into a playmaker.

Brossoit made 27 saves on 29 shots last night in a 6-2 win.

First post updated to reflect Holland/Ramo transaction.

Also updated Heat roster to reflect loan of Wahl and additions to Heat (Aliu, Taylor, PL3, Ivanans, etc).

Heat players currently with Calgary and roster additions to Heat remain on previous roster until Calgary injuries or transactions clarify where the skater will spend the remainder of the year.

yeah, it's the only thing that really irks me in the Cammy trade! I was really looking forward to have him in Abbotsford next season. To me, Holland could be the ultimate steal of the 2010 draft, so I really hoped he'd wear the flaming C. I didn't think that Feaster would move him, especially since our prospect stock is really thin on right wing. On the other hand, his recent success could have been a huge factor in fetching the best possible return from Montreal.

Anyway: all the best in Montreal, Patrick!!!!!

IMO, Holland really had the same pro potential as Sven and Reinhart. Where Sven has elite WHL offensive skill and hockey IQ that will translate well to the NHL, Reinhart has hockey IQ, physicality, a great defensive game, and is quite the playmaker which would translate well to the NHL.

I see Holland as similar, not because of his ability to put up points, but because of his ability to play and thrive against the WHL's top players. If that could translate to the pro level, you got yourself a pretty good player Montreal.

God, I hope Arnold develops into an NHL player so we won't regret trading Holland too much.

Need video! That was a great shootout move. Of the 600 goal 1300 point variety.

Love that goal. Max could become a great two-way forward for this team in the future. As for Bartschi i hope he can get back in the line-up soon and start producing and helping his team win.

Swedish journalist Matias Strozyk is reporting that it's looking like Joni Ortio MAY be loaned to a SM-Liiga team for 2012-13.

Makes sense. The AHL was too big of a jump for him. And he's still very young.

I'm not sure what to think of this. I thought the original plan was getting acclimated to the North American game/ice. On the other hand, I guess it can't hurt sending him back for some more time. As long as he remains dedicated to developing his game.

The thing is, isn't Rano under a KHL deal for this AND next season? It's hard to find reliable KHL contract info, so it's all just speculation.

Yeah, he is so I did a little search and it seems the KHL can block him from returning to NA but it also doesn't seem to be written in stone. Perhaps the Flames can swing a deal with his KHL team if they want him for next season.
