I picked this up on Friday and I'm level 18 as of last night... Sith Assassin, because I wanted a double-sided lightsaber out of the gate (and it's awesome).

The story lines go in theory to level 50, you can basically just focus on the storyline and probably get there pre level 50, but you will probably get your butt handed to you by whoever you face in that last mission.
I'm making the assumption that confronting my master Darth Bariss (I'm trying to stay spoiler free) is the final boss that I have to face and he's a level 50 Sith Warrior.
There's already rumbles about Bioware expanding and hiring writers which could mean expansions which might not only add new classes and races, but add on ongoing story lines for your characters.

I am going to play multiple characters, but I'm really loving my Sith Warrior
I do want to do the Sith Inquisitor story line because it sounds like its much more Sith Centric then the evil Warrior that I am now.

I'm doing the Inquisitor story line, it is incredible so far. I played it in the beta for a weekend so it was my natural first choice to see where the rest of the story goes.
I want to do the sith warrior as well just so I can wield two light sabers at once, but I want to change it up before that and be a gunslinger so I can shoot people with guns that actually go "pew pew pew"

I read that BioWare already has 1.5 years worth of new content written and voice recorded for future release.
Also, I'm level 50 and have finished my class plot, and the loading screen now says "Interlude" instead of the chapter number, and the crawl text says that while the main threat from my story has been defeated, new threats will emerge.

What class were you, and without spoilers, how would you judge the story line that you were involved in. And were you satisfied with the ending.
To me, the more I think about it, the more I believe that I will eventually go after Bariss.
The rule of two, Two Sith there can be, one to embody power and one to crave it.
I also kind of figure that one of my companions is probably going to betray me, its the Sith way.
I'm so satisfied with the game, and excited about the fact that it has 8 unique story lines, of course there will be some repetative missions, but still, I'm willing to sacrifice that for the story.
I think that Bioware has done a great job.
From reading, they've sold over a million copies, and logged something like 6 million hours.
Is it the best MMO out yet? I have limited experience, but from what I've heard the story lines, voice acting and divergant paths ranks it right up there.
The only other game this year that grabs my attention is really Mass Effect 3.
Other then that I would be satisfied with exploring these worlds for a while.

'Star Wars: The Old Republic' handed Guinness record for voice acting
Quote:
Star Wars: The Old Republic has more than 200,000 lines of quest dialogue and features several hundred voice actors. The game's budget is said to have fallen somewhere between $125 million and $200 million (£80.6 million and £129 million).

I was a smuggler, and generally I was satisfied -- but not blown away -- with the story. I liked that I was a Republic character but not a goodie by-the-book Jedi or soldier; the game makes a pretty big deal of the fact that you're a member of the criminal underground and are thus able to take on missions for the Republic that are, strictly speaking, outside the rule of law. I felt like my character was given the galaxy far, far away equivalent of a letter of marque, which was really cool.
Where the Smuggler story failed for me, though, was the lack of financial rewards after completing key quests. I get that this was done for game balance reasons, but it really broke immersion to have NPCs repeatedly tell me, "If you pull off this heist, you'll be the richest man in the galaxy," (or words to that effect) only to not receive any reward at all when I actually did pull off the job.

I hope it's more than 6 million hours. Otherwise that's only 6 hours a person on avg. Even if some people have bought it but haven't played it, it would have to be a huge number. I've got limited play time, only level 30, and I've logged at least 24 hours when i checked my /played.

Whoops the old captain went senile
As of December 27th first week of release
Over 60 million in-game hours -- roughly equivalent to watching all six Star Wars movies over 4 million times
Over 850,000 Sith Warriors and over 810,000 Jedi Knights created
Over 260 million quests completed
Over 44 million PvP battles
Over 9 million space combat missions completed
Over 3 billion NPCs killed

One of the things that I'm going to be doing next week, I have a buddy that's leveling up his bounty hunter, and instead of looking for groups, I'm going to pay him to join me in hero quests.
It would be nice if you could actually pay a bounty hunter to do your story missions for you for cash.
As a smuggler, do you actually smuggle things with your ship?

The very first bit of story you get at the beginning of the game is your character smuggling weapons into a warzone. After that, you spend a lot of time delivering contraband to various people on different planets. Eventually the story evolves to where you take on bigger and bigger jobs and you turn more into a treasure hunter and privateer than a petty smuggler.

It's my fault, I haven't been around to play Dungeon Defenders!
I decided to wait out on this and play Diablo 3 instead. I can only handle one giant time sink at a time!

How is the end game PvP? Anyone comment?
Gear treadmill like WOW? Arena I win button based?
Is there any open world pvp? Or is it all BGs?
Is there a ranking system?
