So started again, and went to do the Azura's Star quest, but for some reason the star isn't in the chamber (IIRC it was just laying on the ground). I know I can just spawn the end quest reward that I want, but is there another way? Can I use the console to get the quest item or complete this section to let be do the final battle?
Any thoughts?

Short of "reload an old save game"... no
These kind of things bug me with Elder Scrolls games... almost as much as when you pick up a quest item for a quest you don't have yet, so you can't remove it from your inventory until you get the quest (which is usually days/weeks later)... and then sometimes you just end up with a 2nd one of them, and still can't drop the first one.

Disregard my post, I looked at some maps of the dungeon online and realized I probably wasn't in the right room. Will check when I get home tonight.

Ah, that'd do it.
Yeah it'd be nice if the arrow pointing towards where you need to be would be grey if you're on the wrong floor or something. That or just don't have the arrow at all; lately I've been trying to avoid looking at it (or doing quests without them selected in my journal, etc).

What are worse are the Stones of Barenziah. 24 of them in the game, 1 that you could easily miss and never return to without glitching the game. You could easily get 11.5 pounds of dead, unremovable weight because you decided to play ninja instead of blasting your way through an area.

I just select them, favourite Clairvoyance, and activate it if I'm lost. Seems to work pretty well.

Yeah the star is in the room above. I rarely look at the arrow, unless I am outdoors.
I never even thought of using clairvoyance inside, that would have solved my problem right away.

So I bought the game, played it for about 15 hours... and can't bring myself to log in again. Just like with Dragon Age, I am bored of it. Just seems like the same old crap over and over again, which is very ironic because I would rather play MMO's... which is the same crap over and over again
If I can't get into even this game, I must be doomed from single players for ever?

Quest items may be an annoying organization issue, but they don't actually weigh anything in your inventory while they are still quest items.
And who would want to get rid of lycanthropy? Being a werewolf is awesome.

Do you know if this applies if you have more than one of the quest item? Or to quest items you have picked up that you do not have a quest for yet?

Not sure...the weight of an object and its quest essential status seem arbitrary.
The Gems you pick up are quest essential, but weight .5. Additionally, the pieces of that Gauldur Amulet you construct are 1 each, but cannot be dropped (very confusing as I went through the College of Winterhold storyline...you get one for your efforts there, but are never really told what it was for). On the other hand, the family sword you're asked to collect for some guy in Whiterun has weight until you pick it up.

I am level 52 and I finally got the quest to deal with that freaking amulet last night. I have a stack of Amulet of Talos as well because I guess one is a quest item but I have no idea what quest so I can't sell any of them.

I have a stupid elder scroll in my inventory that it won't let me remove. It's very annoying because it's weight 20 -- and I'm a mage that can't carry a lot of weight to begin with.

Take it to the College of Winterhold librarian Orc. Tell him you want to donate the scroll.
