Hue could definately ignite that meddling offense in Baltimre but I had read last year that some within the organization were happy to see him leave so time will tell.
I'm totally down for Reggie gutting the Packers for coaching talent and players.

Personally I loved Hue the OC. Best OC I have seen in years. The Raiders finished 9th in total offense despite only having McFadden for the first 6 games and losing his starting QB and bringing in a new QB off his couch on the fly. Quite amazing actually when you see what happened for instance in Indy. In a perfect world Hue would stay on as OC. However I didn't like Hue the head coach nearly as much. His head swelled too big when Davis died and the Palmer deal was simply a poor football deal. For that deal to work the Raiders would have had to go far in the playoffs and that was never going to happen with Chuckles the Clown (the worst defensive coordinator in the history of the NFL) running the defense. I think he will resurface as he is too smart an offensive mind to be out of work for long but he is going to have to learn to work with others better and remember his place.
Well that smoke turned into fire and next is the smoke that Matt Flynn may be on McKenzie's radar especially if Moss turns out to be the head coach.

McKenzie is wasting no time.

He may take a coach or two with him, but player wise, they just dont have a ton of FA's.
Flynn...who is as good as gone, but the Raiders have already placed their eggs in palmers basket.
Ryan Grant....but the raiders have no need there.
Jermichael Finley....dont see him going anywhere as GB will franchise him if need be.
Scott Wells....this is one i am worried about losing...dude can play.
Erik Walden.....good player as well but hasnt been the same since his arrest.
Jarret Bush and patrick lee...you can have em as this is an area Thompson and McCarthy will be looking to upgrade on both of them.
Thts it for FA list from the Pack. one of the benefits of being the 2nd youngest team in the league is you dont have a lot of guys to retain at seasons end

I think Jackson's undoing was that he craved power, and wanted to be a coach who had the front office structured his way and had the say on personell descisions.
No doubt he's a very good offensive co-ordinator. Question is can he handle just being an offensive co-ordinator now that he's had his taste of power?
I figured this could be coming though. One thing Scott Pioli was re-iterating yesterday after hiring Crennel was that when you have a coach in place now as opposed to three weeks from now there is a lot more to chose from in terms of building the staff etc. When he came on as Chiefs GM it was later in the off season and I don't think he got the man he wanted. McKenzie I think knows who he wants, but I suspect it might be another year until they get the coaching staff the way they want it.

there will probably be an exodus of a asst coach or 2 from the Pack to the Raiders. Its just the way it goes.
In spite of these off field distractions the Packers have all the pieces to win a back to back this year.

the decision making aspect on personal was definatly something that went to HJ head in a bad way.
The Curry pick up was a inexpensive steal though, but from what I have heard that was someone Al had targeted a while ago.

His ego got in the way, like others said he craved power
he was also not great at calling a game, when to go for 2, go on 4th etc.
Great OC though, whomever gets him for that role will be a better team for it

Isray stating he will make the decision on Manning and not the new GM. I can see how in some aspects it's helped them but as an organization the Colts have really struggled at making those hard decisions and instead making emotional ones. While its obvious both Peyton and Luck could exist under the cap, the rest of the roster would no doubt be watered down and a rebuilding I e. don't think it's fair to Peyton to put him in that situation. I don't see the Colta being able to hold on to many of their upcoming big salary FA's.
Which brings two questions to mind:
Where could you see Manning playing next year and something that's been overlooked in all of this, where could Reggie Wayne end up? Hate to say it or see it happen, but he would be a great fit with the Patriots.

Having the most penalized team in the league doesn't look good on his record either.

They lost their DC to Auburn yesterday too, and they are expected to lose one more on the offensive.

Sowa gets his wish, Brian Schottenheimer won't be back with the Jets.
Anyone see Hue Jackson's comments, he thinks the owner axed him. I guess he did in a way, but I'm sure he's letting the GM make the decisions. Put another way...Davis wanted to get the right GM in place to structure the organization, he didn't only hire a guy who was willing to get rid of Jackson.

Jets name Tony Sparano OC. Hopefully he takes Henne to NY with him!
More interesting comments coming from the Jets today:
Quote:
|
Several New York Jets players and members of the organization have raised serious doubts about quarterback Mark Sanchez's ability to lead the team going forward
|
Quote:
|
"We have to bring in another quarterback that will make him work at practice," one player told the NY Daily News. "He's lazy and content because he knows he's not going to get benched."
|
Quote:
|
Some members of the organization even went as far as suggesting the team trade Sanchez and try and land Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning..."If you have a chance to get a healthy 36-year-old Peyton Manning and you don't do it, then you're stupid. If I could get a healthy 36-year-old Peyton Manning, then, hell yeah, I would trade Sanchez," one source said.

I think Peyton only goes to a contender that has all the pieces to make a good run except a QB. San Fran, Miami, the Jets, Baltimore, Arizona, KC, and possibly Seattle are the ones who stand out to me. Arizona will likely stick it out with Kolb for one more year, so they're likely out. Baltimore and San Fran are going to depend on what happens in the playoffs, but I also think Baltimore needs to start thinking about finding some new pieces for their defense.
I think it'll come down to who can put together the most impressive package out of KC, Miami, Seattle, and the Jets. My bet would be on Miami, but watch Dan Snyder come out of the blue and trade his next two drafts for Peyton.

Tom Moore is hanging around the Jets these days. Thats where I'd be looking for Manning to end up.

Any chance the Browns can trade-up for Luck?
If Manning is healthy and can play four more years, would IND be interested in the 4th pick + player(s)?
2012 NFL Draft: Cost Of Andrew Luck And Which Teams Will Bid On Him
http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2011/12/...rew-luck-trade
Cleveland Browns - It's funny to think about Cleveland again being involved in a significant draft day trade. This time, of course, they would be the ones moving up in the first round. Unlike the other teams who could use Luck, Cleveland has the ability to pay cash on the barrelhead with two first-round picks in 2012. Colt McCoy may very well be an acceptable solution, but Andrew Luck would finally put the Browns on the road to relevancy. They would still need some offensive players to go with Luck, but the free agent market might provide that.
2012 NFL Draft Order: Cleveland Browns Must Take Robert Griffin with No. 4 Pick
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...with-no-4-pick
With the No. 4 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Browns have the option of potentially trading up to take Andrew Luck or staying put and taking Baylor QB-sensation Robert Griffin III.
Plain and simple—RGIII is the answer for this football team.
In order to trade up to draft Luck, the Cleveland Browns will either be giving up quality players or quality draft picks that the organization could use to help them continue to build a stronger team.

Jets players rip Mark Sanchez.....want Peyton Manning:
http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/stor...peyton-manning
Like the Grigson hire as GM. Did some good things in Philly in terms of eyeing guys like Jackson and Mccoy.
Colts need to let Caldwell go and bring in a new coach. From there player personnel can be determined.

I have a hard time seeling Wells go anywhere, I think they get him locked up. He is a Thompson player to a T and McCarthy has been raving about him for years. There is no one close to being ready enough to step in for Wells.
I dont' agree on Bush, if he can get him back I think TT will. I give Bush a ton of credit for helping with the special teams turnaround and while I still cringe to see him in coverage, he is a best on special teams and that's something that taken the Packers years to establish.
The rest I agree, have him. Raiders would be doing well if they looked at Perry for their head coach i've heard nothing but great things since the Pack hired him. I'm not the biggest Winston Moss fan but it always sucks to lose a coach. Losing Perry or Moss would suck, but I think it gets worse if he wants to take either Kevin Greene or Edgar Bennett as DC and OC respectively. Big fan of those two guys, and would really suck to lose them.
