I honestly think that the LSU players read too many of their own press clippings.

Well it was definitely defensive domination, but I would have liked Bama to get another TD to call it a dominating win.
But I will take it ... Bama will take a dip next year, so we needed to win it all this year

Brutal showing by my Tigers, Alabama was fantastic tonight.
Not sure what to say other than nothing that they tried to execute was effective. Much of that is a credit to Alabama, but they have to accept a good bit of blame themselves. They were very predictable.
Winning another SEC Championship while defeating 7 ranked teams (3 Top 5), 2 conference champs, and 3 BCS bowl winners will have to be how I remember this season. After all, the BCS Championship isn't a "real" title anyway, right?
2012 is supposed to be LSU's "good" year, I hope that holds true.

What a boooooring game that was. Not sure if that LSU QB is a Sr or not but if he is, he just damaged his drafting potential bigtime with that stale performance.
Man what a dull game that was especially to determine a National Champion. Maybe in the top 3 for bad bowl games this year.
There was one scamper for a TD, but other than that no big plays no real nailbiting drama, nothing.
Most of the bowls were great outside of
Orange Bowl
Ticket City Bowl
Las Vegas
BSC National Championship.

Fun Fact:
Georgia Southern gained more yards (341) in one game against Alabama then LSU did in two (331)

Someone was telling me that Monday Night Raw had better ratings than the Orange Bowl last Monday night (here in the states).

Best joke I've heard so far:
Apparently the LSU football team is still stuck in New Orleans. Someone painted a 50 yard line across I-10...

I thought it was tremendously fun to watch. The way that the Bama D-Line and Linebackers basically toyed with Jefferson, the way that McCarron picked on one of the best defensive players in the country, the wrinkles Bama used to move the ball on first down to avoid 3rd and longs.
Alabama shut down everyone they played. Arkansas (who out-gained and out scored Oklahoma state against a common opponent in A&M), only managed 226 yards. LSU was the top scoring team in the SEC at over 38 a game prior to last night. I don't get how an offensive historic performance is automatically more entertaining in the general public's eye than a defensive one. In this era of offensive focus, a complete ass kicking like that by a defense is going to be extremely rare. Appreciate it.
I love seeing a great team or athlete perform at the highest level. That might have been the most dominant defensive performance I've ever seen.
Also, part of what kept it so interesting AND made it so impressive was that LSU was technically in the until Bama finally got that touchdown. Both teams knew that just one big play from LSU was all it would take to make it a barn burner and yet LSU could barely even get a first down and could not cross the 50 yard line!
The mission statement of the BCS is not to produce the 'most exciting game' but to get the two best teams. Prior to the game no one would argue LSU, and Alabama clearly showed last night who was better.

They went for it on 4th and 18 the previous drive (the only time they got past midfield) and Jefferson nearly got his head ripped off.
By this point, they had given up.

What killed me about that play was that Alabama was offside, the flag was thrown and the punter still punts it. Maybe he didn't see it, but to me you have to have a communication there that tells the punter to take off down the field. Maybe you don't make it, but it's a free play. At least try.
That's something I always loved about John Elway and infuriates me watching many other QBs....he would recognize that offside call and it seemed like every time someone would run a fly route and they would try to hit a big play, and often did.

The lack of offensive creativity frustrated me the most.
How many times do you need to see a speed option get crushed 2 yards behind the line before you try something else? Granted, Alabama was applying immense pressure, but you need to try to get it down the field. They tried 3 legit down field passes, Jefferson was looking off his 1st option and running. Lee would have at least gone through a progression.
The LSU defense, while a bit flat, did a great job overall. They bent but didn't break until it was obvious that the game was over.
The rumor mill is coming off its hinges in Baton Rouge, major contributors are tweeting about their lack of playing time (Russell Shepherd saw 3 plays). Jarrett Lee has been the bigger man about it so far. The anti-Miles contingent is crowing again.

I forgot all about the game. Saw the highlights afterwards. Frankly they were not very compelling teams to watch. Much rather watch Luck etc. firing some passes downfield than a snooze fest.

A lot of rumors coming out of Baton Rouge today. Pregame fistfights, halftime players' rebellion demanding Jefferson be benched, mass exodus of players opting for the NFL or transferring, etc.
It'll be interesting hearing how much of it is true after some of these players graduate.

Option didn't work because Jefferson waws hammered on one of the first ones they ran and was a wuss the rest of them and never was a threat to run the ball. He pitched it way too fast and bam a knew this.

What is with the 'player uprsisings' lately? First the Jets soap opera and now this?
Looks bad on the coaches IMO.
