Yeah, but put in all the effort to dress like a call girl if you're just going to stay in?

If they really wanted to just hang out with their friends and have a good time, they probably be better of not going to a club.
That's funny.

I also love how there is usually one ####-blocker in the group. Usually the least attractive one that isn't getting any attention.

I lived in Vancouver for most of my single 20s and never really found it difficult to meet girls. Then again, most of the ones I used to meet were from somewhere else and just moved there.

Ding. The one who knows if she lets guys come into the circle, she'll be standing by herself by the end of the night.

If you have a sense of humour, enough self esteem that it doesn't worry you to get shoot down now and then, can make a reasonable attempt at dancing and own a decent jacket and pants its pretty much shooting fish in a barrel.

The trouble with N American men is they can't/won't dance, they seem scared ####less of talking to women and seem to think runners are acceptable footwear in a club.

We expect women to spend hours getting ready to go out for us to be interested but then most guys here can barely bother to change out of their sweat pants when they go out.
I got hit on by a girl half my age (in fun I'm sure) at a club in Seattle because, as she put it, I was the best dressed guy in the room, I am 50 and was wearing a pair of 501's, a shirt and jacket and a pair of Italian loafers, it would barely be passable to go shopping in in most of europe, when I looked around at the crowd though she was right, it was a room full of 25 ot 35 year old guys wearing scruffy jeans and t shirts.

I'm 29. Most of my friends aren't married. The ones that are either met their partner overseas (Aus, Japan) or married someone they went to high school with.

Go figure.

I've had very little luck at bars - most of my successes come from weekend long parties (i.e. Big Valley Jamboree) or other more informal social settings with friends of friends type events.

I think Calgary in general is one of the cliquiest cities in North America. Really tough to break into different circles and become friends.

You'd think by now she'd know the only reason they bring her out is so that the average ones look much better looking by comparison.

Well it beats sweat pants with dress shoes at least.

I know my game changed immensely for the better when I just said 'eff it, rejection is a definite possibility'.

Just go up and talk to women. If you can accept the concept of rejection, you`re even further better off. They`re not even talking to you anyways, what`s the worst that`s going to happen - they`re not going to talk to you? They`re already doing that.

As well, proper dress is important. Why would a chick want to hook up with a dude that doesn`t try to look good and stand out. And by looking good, I mean suit (sans tie)... not over complicated skull designs on t-shirts and $500 jeans.

I do agree though, that it`s much easier to pick up women on the international scene. Less cliquey, less judgmental. Canada and the US are interesting scenarios.

I haven't a clue what women want, I was on a dating spree for about two to three years just meeting lots of girls, got lots and dates and extra..but never had a connection, they were all like friends, no one I would want to live and grow with. Then I just got comfortable with myself, and enjoyed being single, im not ugly, but far from what hollywood would call attractive. Suddenly I end up meeting an amazing girl that could really spend the rest of my life with, and fricking hot, I couldn't explain or understand what gets girls interested in a guy, just lucky to have a great one in my life.

I will say lots of girls haven't a clue how to find a guy though, when I was dating, many times I felt they were going, "ok he owns a car, good!, has a good job, good!, no criminal record, good!, doesn't do drugs, he's a keeper!" and Im saying, "Im gone!" (will admit most of those experiences were when I lived in Calgary)

they wanted me as their guy knowing just those credentials sad, sad. I am thinking you haven't a clue who I am!

I take it you happily date 200lb fuglies as long as they have a good personality? I mean the shallowness of a woman not wanting to date an unemployed meth addicted ex con. Bitches all of them eh!

Some of us 25-30 year-olds aren't really in the income bracket to be wearing sport coats and Italian loafers. Also, whenever I've gone to the clubs with girls they always seem to note that the dudes who dress up too much look like they're trying too hard.

I'll dress up if I'm going somewhere nice, but I'm not going to get all sweaty and boozey in my nice clothes at a hot, stinky club. Girls have the advantage there because getting dressed up means wearing less layers. I seem to do just fine with my decent sneakers, clean jeans, and non-######y t-shirts. Maybe it's because I'm more focused on trying to have fun than pick-up girls when I go out, so I look like less of a dog.
