I wonder what the philosophical differences were. Perhaps that he likes offence and the Bears don't.

I would say he loves to throw the ball but with Forte on the team the team would want heavy runs. Ot the Bears want more protection for Cutler.
But with Forte a pending FA, perhaps it was that back room discussion that soured things.

I think the Browns need more weapons around the QB. A young QB with no one to pass to = another Colt McCoy. Might as well keep the one you have and build around him rather than continually replace that one position player.

So true. Turner has to be one of the worst coaches. I used to like the Chargers, not with that bonehead anymore.

Ah but the Bears had one of their highest rushing offense years ever this year.

He's a good Offensive coordinator and always has been back to the Aikman days in Dallas, and probably earlier.
And thus, Rivers like him and his offense. They have underachieved for the talent that they have and have had, clearly.
But this year, San Diego won 4 of the first 5, and 4 of the last 5 as well. Without that botched snap in the KC game, they would've won the division and be hosting a playoff game this week.
Given all that, another year of continuity in a division where 1 team doesn't have a coach (KC), one team's coach is on a power trip wanting to hire his own GM (OAK), and the other team with the weekly melodrama of "Day's of Tebow" is likely to continue all offseason, its not the worst thing for the Chargers to stand pat and keep the QB happy and see how it plays out.
The GM stays solely because of that too, but both are on the hotseat already for next season.

They could go hard after a guy like Matt Flynn, than draft Justin Blackmon. With Mike Holmgren there as football czar, and Shermur (sp?) having roots back to Green Bay, I think there is a chance we could see that. Holmgren got to the Superbowl and won a lot of Divisions with another guy who was blocked from playing time in Green Bay.
I think the Browns O-line is servicable, and they have Joe Thomas who's a stud to play LT. I don't think McCoy is the answer at QB..but as you say he has so little to work with in the passing game.

If all the teams in the top 3 don't trade out of their spots, Blackmon will be gone then.
