The Calgary Stampeders promoted Dave Walkosky to defensive co-ordinator Friday.

Walkosky served as Calgary's linebackers coach last season, his first with the CFL club.

There's another player coming with Glenn and Glenn is probably way cheaper than Frank!

Ya it wouldn't surprise me to see a Glenn and someone else come back to the Stamps. I like the deal as Naylor reported. Glenn will be an excellent backup to Tate.

ug Dewit....Id have thought they couldd have done a bit better.

Dewit was drafted in the sixth round of the 2008 CFL Draft by the Toronto Argonauts. He played three years at Toronto, before being released by the Argonauts on June 22, 2010. On June 26, 2010 he signed as a free agent. He currently plays for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, being picked up for the 2010 season.

funny...looking at CFLPA page for Dewit also has Glenn profiled LOL.

Well i'm suprised they are able to get anything of value for Burris so I think Dewit is a decent return. Stamps got terrible play out of Tim O'Neil at center last year, and from all accounts Dewit stepped in for Hage and played fairly well lastr season and Hage is one of the best centers in the league. So to get a potentiall starting non import offensive lineman for a player they had to deal and really to the only team that was likely after him, i'd say its a pretty good trade for the Stamps.

Huff has his head up his butt making this deal. Hey fool your defence sucked all year especially in the 4th.
Terrrible trade for the Stamps not going after what we need. Like always there are a pile of undersized quality QB's coming out of the NCAA.

Huff you were a QB coach so mold one and teach just like what you did with Tate.

Glenn's best years are behind him and he is average.

Hate this trade completly.

I cant see how this eases Tate's mind about a certain future. Glenn will be whining in no time.

I guess the good thing is that Tate now doesn't have to worry about looking over his shoulder worried that he will be replaced as Glenn is one of the few starter/back-ups in the league likely worse than Tate.

Concerned now that we have no QB's on the team that can win us a GC but perhaps there will be a young guy coming in that can take over in a year or two.

Nice to get a NI OL back, hopefully he can play as the OL was terrible at times last season.

Why would Calgary want to?

He'll be one of the better back ups in the league and provide some good leadership for Tate. Just in case Tate turns out to be a dud at least Glenn is serviceable.

This was my thinking as well. I agree its too bad we didn't add someone on D, but I'm not too bothered by the deal. Like Cecil said, Glenn would be one of the better back-ups, and his contract is up after next season so its not like we're stuck with a Stajan-type deal or anything.

Hey it could be worse, we could've traded away our all-star QB for Jyles..

Some of you didn't understand the position Huff was in. Come Feb 1, Burris was due some substantial incentives.

The choice was to pay him AND let him walk as a FA or try and find a trading partner knowing Burris' value would be low due to his contract and his poor season.

There's a lot more to running a pro team (football or otherwise) then most of us understand.

For the record, I would have loved to see a good DLman to come back, but obviously that wasn't possible. Hopefully we can pick up a FA.

We need to shed deadweight like Rambo and Bryant and add some impact players on defense and offensive line.

My guess is that the Stamps are targeting defensive guys through free agency. It would not surprise me if one or both of Rambo and Bryant are also moved.
