Glad the Broncos made it. Of course they have no chance of beating the Steelers next week, but it is the playoffs. I'll be watching and hoping.
Horrible non call right before Denver's field goal that may have had an impact on the outcome of the game. With all the attention on protectiing QB's, it is amazing that Hali could be wrenching on Tebow's helmet for 3 or 4 seconds in total and none of the officials see it?
Tebow looked afraid to throw to me today. He wasn't like that before last week. I'm interested to see how he progresses in the offseason. He's going to have to improve immensely for the Broncos not to look for a QB in the 2013 draft, IMO.

Some notes:
Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall won't play in the WC game next week @ Denver. It's feared he tore an MCL.
Jets WR Santonio Holmes quit on the team and was benched. LT said he was acting like a poor sport and quit on the team in the last 2 minutes and everyone in the huddle told him to suck it up and they still had a chance.

They wouldn't even be good enough to get to the point of heartaches and headaches!

The Broncos might not beat the Steelers, but the Bengals might beat the Texans... and the Pats facing the Bengals instead of the Steelers would make me happpy

Finally? I waited a long time (since about 1978) for the Pats to win a Superbowl.
Who says they can't replace Brady? Green Bay went from one hall-of-famer to another.
And you're kidding yourself again, if you think Brady is the only reason the Pats are sucessful.

Tebow is just coming down to earth. He is today what everyone thought he was, its pure reversion to the mean. If I'm the guy making a pick in Denver I'm looking hard at a QB and moving Tebow to another position, or using him situationally. He just isn't cutting it as a starter, internet sensation or not.

No, he's not coming back to earth because he has never performed 'above earth'.
Internet sensation doesn't mean a damn thing on the field or to fans who know anything. The lockout hurt him. They'll give him a shot to improve in the offseason.

Well he ended up starting basically because the fans were wanting him to, thats basically what I was referring to with the internet sensation remark. He did manage to put together some late game drives which translated into wins though; that might not have been above earth but it was above his usual standard.
Really though, as a Chiefs fan, I think its great. I hope he comes back to start for the Broncos next season!

In regards to Teebow, That last throw of his today is why he's got a long way to go. He had room to step forward and drive the ball, but he'd take a big hit. Throwing QB's take that step. He back pedaled and tossed up a floater. He's big and strong, and tough to get to the ground. But when defensive players do their assignment and keep contain he won't be able to run for enough yards against NFL defences.
Next week against Pittsburgh it might end up 7-0 if Ben's ankle still has issues.

To be honest, I wanted the Falcons. I think both are a legit threat, frankly I would've rather played the Giants/Cowboys than either the Falcons or Lions. That Lions/Saints prime time game last month was tight until the 4th Q. I think we'll win, but also think it will be close for most of it again.
Ya the Falcons are probably the bigger threat, but I just love watching us slap them around. After all their crying about wanting the Saints again after what happened 2 weeks ago, it would've been awesome to beat them up yet again, and watch Roddy White whine to the refs after every play Greer shuts him down on.

The Jets finish a very disappointing season.
3 things that has to happen:
1. Schottenheimer has to be let go. Rumors are McD or Turner will be who the Jets target as a replacement.
2. Holmes has to go, although that one is a bit tougher.
3. Draft a right tackle in the first round. Woody should have been resigned and he said he wouldn't have retired if he was. Hunter doesn't have what it takes.

4. Ryan needs to shut his yap and just coach...otherwise he comes off as looking like nothing more than a buffoon as he did this year. Its that whole "if you're going to talk the talk" thing.
He did his players no favors at all this year.

Seems Rodgers was part of Flynns success yesterday as well..
Quote:
Starting in place of Rodgers, who was given the day off, Flynn was brilliant in the Packers' 45-41 season-ending victory over the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field. But behind the scenes, Rodgers was on the headset calling plays for Flynn every time coach Mike McCarthy called for a no-huddle offense.

How does it hurt his players? I don't mind the bravado at all. It takes all the attention off his players.

What?
It makes them targets dude....he isnt the one out there taking the hits and getting thumped all over the field.
Takes attention off his players? It puts MORE attention on them...he talks the talk and THEY have to walk the walk.

Just the beginning according to Clayton on ESPN...he believes as many as 8 but more likely 5 HC positions will be vacant by weeks end.

Well I would hope that professional athletes would play at 100% no matter what the opposing coach says before the game. Jets probably had fewer injuries than most NFL teams so I don't think they were getting hit any harder or dirtier than other teams.

13-3
I never saw that coming for the 49ers and am just enjoying the ride. Harbaugh just seems to know the right moves to put players into positions they seem comfortable with. Yesterday there was only one WR on the roster who had caught more than 10 passes in the NFL. And Crabtree responded with 93 yards and 2 TDs.
The defence is great. Willis came back yesterday and was a little rusty, but that was why he wanted to play. The secondary is still a little suspect but the pressure they are putting on the QBs this year is helping to compensate. 2 Terrell Brown INTs yesterday were converted in 14 points. And if they had held the Rams to 13 or fewer points they would have set the record for fewest points allowed in a season.
And the 49ers have gone 22 quarters without a turnover. They have turned the ball over 10 times all season (5 INT, 5 fumbles) and ended up with a +28 differential. Both those marks tie the 2010 Pats.
At this point everything is gravy, I'm just enjoying the return to relevance.

Or they just weren't playing as hard as other teams. It all depends upon the players. Some will thrive under increased pressure, some will wilt, it has nothing to do with being a professional, people are different and motivated in different ways.
We have all seen how the effectiveness of some coaches' methodologies have a definite shelf life. This may be the case with the Jets. He seemed to be able to rally them the past couple seasons with his braggadocio but this time it didn't work. He is going to need a new approach or some new players next season.
