Default Compatible wifi adapters for Sony BDP-S380

Just wondering if anyone has this Blueray player and
is using a wifi adapter, other than Sony's $80 dongle.

Hey, great thread! I just bought the same one, they want more for the dongle than what I paid for the player. Unreal.

I know it's an option, but I'd like to try the wifi route first.

Option #1: Figure out what the wifi chipset is inside the official $80 Sony dongle. Usually it will be Realtek or some other generic thing. Find another wifi adapter using the same chipset and firmware.

Option #2: Buy or create a wireless repeater bridge with a common wireless router or access point. That device becomes your WiFi reciever and you plug a short ethernet cable between that and your BluRay player. That's how I hooked up my non-Wifi Asus O'Play in a room without any cables.

Sony kinda loves their custom firmware on most things though, don't they? Or do you think they'd just use a commodity part for something so simple?
