Saw Stanley park was open about a week ago, just off of 42 Ave

Killarney rink on 26 Ave is open too, its pretty small and I don't think much else than just skating goes on there (no hockey).

Whitehorn got the Lowe's up-keep treatment, so this should be a nice new outdoor rink. You will be close to Temple however so bring a gat!

Shawnessy hasn't been flooded yet and no one was there again last night so they likely don't have anyone to flood it.

We were able to skate at Millrise last night and the main Rink was being flooded when we were leaving so it will be pristine for tonight Flames game....what Flames game

Went to the Tuscany arena today. Very good ice conditions except the far south end was cordoned off because it was slushy.

What better than some 3 on 3 on Christmas afternoon.

BTW, Tuscany isn't a public arena. You have to be a resident.

There's a good rink in Sunalta right near the Tennis Courts. You could have a good 3 on 3 hockey game there (due to the size). There are nets there as well.

Well, at least maybe Lake Louise or Minnewanka have survived this chinook or whatever it is. Bowness was almost ready last week, with the exception of the hazardous core samples that were taken out at random spots.

Anyone know any active rinks in the SW? I'm dying to shoot the puck around.

Checked signal hill, solid concrete. Would be better off playing roller hockey.
Anyone find rinks?

Playing shinny is the best part of coming home for Christmas, this weather is ruining Christmas!!

Yup, the exact same situation for me.

Southwood rink (Sackville Drive just off elbow with boards and nets) is looking very good considering the recent temperatures.

3:00 PM Monday Dec 26 there are 3 guys skating "shooting the puck around".

Is there a public skating rink where you can take a hockey stick? I'm one of those terrible ashamed Canadians who can't really skate well, and could use the help on the balance front.

Probably any of the pleasure rinks as long as its clear you are using it as a balance aid.

Glenbrook rink is frozen and in exceptionally average condition. Some pretty big gouges in the ice but definitely decent for some shoot around.

I was just starting to think that a sport needed to be invented that could be played on a slushy or completely melted ice rink.

I need to get my kids' skates sharpened...I used to go to sport swap, and ideas for a new place? I'm in the SW close to Chinook.
