Man, I hope the redskins get him. We'd probably still suck, but would be a whole lot more fun to watch.

I have a feeling Akpla may be playing on Sundays next year. He's a great blocker, he's fast, and has a catch in every game he's played as a Bobcat.
I'm glad he realized the err of his ways and left U of Oregon for the greener pastures of Bozeman.

I think he and Trumaine Johnson will both be playing on Sundays next year. Both will be drafted too.
Hell of a catch!

BTW....the City of Waco just won the Heisman. Not an individual award per Robert Griffin III.
The kid is something else!

It will be interesting to see how high he goes in the draft. He might end up being the next guy up after Andrew Luck.

Yeah he may very well be,,,,all depends on the team and what sort of offense they want to run. If a team like the Dolphins is going QB....i can see them going with Barkely ahead of Griffin, but then again it depends on who they bring in to coach etc too.
Seattle would go Barkely as well with Carrolls ties to him. Washibgton i think wold go Griffin tho....so who knows.

Alabama losses their OC Jim McElwane to Colorado State.
Auburn's DC was was a quit/fire and went to UAB I believe
Auburn's OC Gus Malzahn left for Arkansas State
Malzahn will reportedly make around 850k when his salary was over 1m at Auburn. I bet he wishes he took that Vanderbilt or Maryland job now.
Rumor is most likely that Bama's Kirby Smart will end up leaving this year also.
The downfall to Meyers success at Florida was when we lost Dan Mullen and Charlie Strong. We will see if Chezik or Saban can make the right calls

That's the rumor every year, but what really is left for him to choose from? A&M would have been a good fit. I don't think he goes to a small school.

Well, the Griz made it interesting in the end after going down 21-0 early, they fought back outscoring Sam Houston State 28-10 the rest of the way. Too many turnovers and a gem of a RB on the other side were the difference.
I think Tim Flanders may be an NFL running back. Holy cow does that kid have some awesome feet.
Here's to a Montana/Montana State dominated Big Sky Conference again next year. Both teams have very young players at key positions so it should be a fun ride again!

Agreed, I think if Montana didn't get that pick six at the end of the first half, they were on their way to a big loss. That kept them close enough to not force them in to "catch up" mode.

Bama has some of the most psychotic fans that I've ever seen. Most of them have never even stepped foot on campus. Even on the news they have some hillbilly that comes to Tuscaloosa to visit the bear bryant museum for their honeymoon because they're such huge bama fans.
It's scary to say the least...

What? It's been 24 hrs and no one has commented on the fact Urban Meyer won't get to coach in a Bowl game or a B10 championship.
http://espn.go.com/blog/bigten/post/...action-roundup
Tressel gets a 5-year semi-ban on top of it all.

I guess I was a bit more surprised at the Tressel news than the lack of a bowl/championship game.
I think the penalties for coaches are a good idea. Too many times in the past the schools would be left holding the bag and the coach would move on down the road without repercussions.

I guess I'm surprised that the NCAA did anything at all to one of their sacred cows. I mean Ohio University didn't have a player get caught speeding so they could get the penalty instead?

Barkley has to be an early favorite for Heisman nominee for 2012 now..............

“I know in my heart I have not yet finished my journey as a Trojan football player,” Barkley said. “The 2012 team has some serious unfinished business to attend to and I intend to play a part in it.”
That’s bad news for teams near the top of the draft order that were hoping to select a franchise quarterback, and for teams like the Rams, who could stock up on talent by trading down with a team desperate to add a franchise quarterback.
The player who figures to benefit the most from Barkley’s return is Baylor’s Robert Griffin III, who is expected to enter the draft and now appears to be the clear-cut No. 2 quarterback behind Stanford’s Andrew Luck.
And Barkley now becomes the early favorite as the No. 1 overall pick in 2013.

Great game from Osweiler last night against Boise State in the Las Vegas Bowl sans the one terrile decision that ended up in the other end zone. Loved it when he waved the punt team off the field even though they didn't convert the 4th down. Will be interesting to see how he progresses under a new coach next year and where he might end up among the QB prospects for the 2013 draft.
Time to change the avatar.

I was amazed he wasnt in New York for the ceremony THIS year....he was unreal this season but because of the insanity of the NCAA sanctions, was overlooked or just forgotten by the voters for the most part.
