Sounds like he has gone crazy. Might have a better chance getting off on claims of mental insanity.

“I’m a microcosm,” said the 40-year-old who was a Richmond Hill councillor from 2003 to 2006. This is about the “unjust enrichment” of the banks, and the spiralling debt that affects every family.
“This is why there is an economic crisis.”

lol

Normal families don't get themselves into $176,000 of line of credit and credit card debt, but thanks for trying.
This guy might find some sympathy with the Calgary occupiers.

It's not debt because he used it to buy a house.

LOL, The bank manager should have handed him back a piece of paper, with the words 'Get Bent' written on it.

If they can't produce the original paperwork how do they prove he owes them anything? That is the only part that I find interesting

The guys an idiot, it would be nice if the Supreme Court ordered a mental evaluation.

Its not like the banks can hurt him anymore, they took his car and his house, and he's going to be unemployable.

I hate people who run up massive debt and then cry that its the evil banks that cause their problems.

I think the bank should be allowed to break thumbs in extreme cases, I'll even do that job for minimum wage on a full time basis.

he is correct in context; the reason that there is an crisis is because people can't pay back their loans, not because they spent 2 years researching how to get out of paying their loans. maybe he could have invested those 2 years doing something else to help pay the loans back.

crazy but true!

He has tried unsuccessfully to . . . . pay a lawyer in this way.

Di Iorio represented himself in court.

One has to LOL when reading that, doesn't one?

He claims the bank can’t produce the original document he signed to obtain his loan and lines of credit, and that it has been passed on to the Bank of Canada.

There's about a 99.9% probability the TD bank could produce the document in question if ordered to.

If the document wasn't produced in the initial trial, it is doubtful that they actually have the document. Although, maybe Mr. Dummy just has no idea wtf he was doing and didn't ask for it in the course of the legal proceedings. If he asked for it and they had it, they are bound to give it over. Further, TD is a big enough company that I don't think they would open themselves up to all other sorts of litigation if they destroyed documents to get around a relatively small claim.

Nothing new. People have been claiming things like this forever. Wesley Snipes is in jail because of this. He claimed he could pay off millions in income taxes with "Bills of Exchange" which were pieces of paper he put his own stamp on and that he wasn't liable for any taxes because the name on his birth certificate was in capital letters and his legal name isn't written in capital letters.

Laugh. The economic crisis is due to people like you buying stuff you can't afford. I also agree with the comment he should have done something more productive for 2 years. Hell he could have worked part time at this crap pot idea and been further ahead. He might only owe 170k.
