Well that is disappointing. As someone said earlier, it is really surprising that AA and Rogers would allow all the fans to get their hopes up like this. There will be a lot of ticked of fans now.

Yes, it is true Texas won the bid. According to many twitter sources ie Rosanthal and MLB Trade rumours, Texas has indeed won the right to negotiate with Darvish. What a let down. Wonder what Blue Jays bid amount was?

The entire freaking baseball world had no idea, every indication is that the Jays made a very competitve offer and thought they might get him. You can't Blame AA for the rumor machine that is the internet. A lot of fans get ticket off at the Jays for the dumbest reasons, and are the same that started a sign Prince Fielder petition Online.

AA has still done an outstanding job with this team, and we've only improved this offseason.

Yeah its just a bad PR play. All the attention is nice, but this is just going to turn away the casual fan now.

Not arguing with the decision as it is a huge risk but the Jays PR this summer has been brutal. The whole no comment thing really Backfired on them.

Oh well, certain they will get a starter anyway, just sucks it will cost 3 or 4 more top prospects.

What were they suppose to say if they had no idea if they had won or loss? AA has always stuck by not commenting on specific free agents or other players.

I don't blame AA and/or Rogers at all, but lots of people do. There are already a ton of angry fans bashing them. Personally I'm not all that broken up about not getting him.

After losing CJ Wilson the Rangers probably decided to go all in. Too bad, looks like another 4 th place season. Jays might have to let their own prospects become those high end starters like the Rays do.
