This is Garza over the last three years vs the AL East:
Bal - 3-1, 3.21 ERA (4.05 ERA at Camden Yards)
Bos - 4-3, 3.82 ERA (3.54 ERA at Fenway Park)
NYY - 0-2, 4.43 ERA (3.18 ERA at Yankee Stadium)
Tor - 3-3, 2.27 ERA (1.78 ERA at Rogers Center)
Like I said, pending the price - I wouldn't be opposed to getting Garza. But if we are truly in the pitching market, for the love of JC, lets get a front line starter/projectable front line starter. If you are going to pull assets away from the farm, make sure you get the right guy.
I'm not even opposed to this if the Jays land Darvish.
I fully believe with the way the Jays have been linked to big names (Fielder(which sounds more like term issue than dollars), Darvish, Gio Gonzalez, Carlos Beltran, Mat Latos, etc), the Jays are willing to spend cash to become contenders - so get your front line starter no matter the cost - but please be an actual stud that can shove. They are available as we have seen. No more of the Brendan Morrow type starters, we have enough 3/4 starters on the club. You have a rotation of Darvish/Romero/Garza/Morrow/Alvarez - that instantly puts you into playoff contention IMO. It puts Morrow and Romero in ideal spots - and allows you to shorten your rotation in a five game series with confidence.
