Didn't she give away a date with her to a hockey game in a contest on this board, and she was never heard from again?

Book is the only real character I would miss who has been killed off.

It is right, getting the rights from Fox would be the most difficult part.

I really enjoyed firefly for the one season it was on the air, but would be so conflicted if it were to be revived. It just wouldn't be the same.
You can tell though that the crew loved it and built some long lasting friendships out of it. These exchanges between Nathan Fillion, Jewel Staite and Sean Maher are hilarious.

It's probably been too long by now, hasn't it? I don't care, though, if revived I would watch it religiously.

I suppose that may have been meant to just rap things up or perhaps hope that rating would improve enough to get an extension, but then moving it to the Friday Night death slot meant it was just playing out the string.

They wrapped filming recently.

And Adam Baldwin is frequently retweeting any Firefly related info he gets to Fillion. That group generally still seems pretty tight.

But with the way Serenity wrapped things up, I'm not sure I would want it to continue. Even if they did simply ignore it, that would still be a sore spot. And I don't think you can tinker with too many parts. It was the characters that made the show. Any replacement just wouldn't be Firefly.

Clearly a show worthy of the ridiculous cult following it's gathered...

Sounds more like you got trolled by Joss Whedon than me.

Not always, but sometimes. It depends on context.

For example if the neighbours are discussing how they like their steaks, I rarely lean over the fence to inform them that steak was never a good food and that I didn't understand their obsession with it. That would be off topic and completely rude. How is my opinion if steak is a good food be relevant to their conversation?

Now if they were discussing if steak was a good food or not my opinion would make more sense in that context.

Or, you come into a thread about a show which we love and basically dump all over it.

It's the definition of trolling.

If you want to voice your opinion, go to the overrated/underrated thread.

I watched Firefly on netflix a few months back. I thought the show was great, but truthfully, I don't think it's worth bringing back.

And that's the franchise that killed Kirk, Spock, brought both back, and then included time travel as a reboot plot device to allow old previously dead Spock to meet new younger Spock.

Death means nothing in Sci Fi. There's about a billion workarounds that haven't even been thought of yet.

When did Star Trek bring Kirk back from the dead?

You could at least make some basic effort to know what you're talking about before you spout off. The death of major characters and the resolution of the main mystery didn't occur in the first season, they occurred in the movie, which came out long after as a result of the cult following which demanded some sort of resolution. In other words, answering the main mystery was the whole point. Two of the central characters were killed off in order to make you wonder if they might wrap the thing up by killing everyone off, i.e. to add suspense.

Besides the horrible horrible novels, where they bought him back to life, then killed him, then bought him back to life again.

I wouldn't count the Generations movie as him being dead.
