Just pay cash so they don't ask for ID, locals get better rates then Golf Now and simlilar web sites. Also all prices down there include carts.
Be careful at Rhodes (it's our home course) cause depending on who's working they might ask for your home owners card. I still get asked to produce it now and then. It is a fun course though. Not too long and can be forgiving if you leak a bit (not too much though), but the par 3's are great.

Just came back from Vegas and had a chance to stay at Vdara. It's a non-smoking, non-gambling hotel and it's amazing. It's nice to go back to your room after a long day and not have to walk through all these slot machines. It's a nice and quiet place that's easy to get to. There's a tram that you can take that travels Monte Carlo --> Crystals/Aria --> Vdara/Belagio. We had a room on the 53rd floor overlooking the Belagio fountains and it was such an amazing view. We could see everything on the north portion of the strip and the Palms/Rio area as we were pretty high up there.

Heading to Vegas this may for the first time for my 30th birthday! Also a gonna have a huge shopping trip. Looking at staying at Treasure Island as we want a pool, and I believe it's close to some good shopping. Good plan?

Things are crazy cheap in Vegas still. If I were you I'd take advantage of the low hotel rates and book at a much nicer hotel. There are other hotels with pools.

We stayed at Monte Carlo a couple months back and the pool there was pretty awesome, even with the wave pool closed. Matters what your looking for...Arguable Mandalay Bay probably has the "neatest" pool in Vegas IMO...way on the south end but close to the south outlet mall...TAO beach at the Venetian is suppose to be pretty nuts too if that's what you're looking for.

^^^ I have stayed at TI and although the "luxury" feel was not as nice as most it was my favorite. Pool was just ok however quite a few pools are closed around this time so if it is open then that's a plus.
Stay away from shopping on the strip. The nice thing is you are so central that you can go left or right on 2 different days. Get in a cab and for 20-30$ go to premiere outlet mall. Spend $5 at the guest services desk on a coupon booklet and prepare to save big!!!!

I am going to be sending out an email in the coming week regarding a "prize in 2012" of round trip accommodations for 2, penthouse accommodations on the strip, limousine transportation, show tickets, helicopter tour etc.
Thought I would mention it in this thread as I have a few of CP emails.
If I dont have your email and you want more details feel free to pm me.

I might have to re read this entire thread and take everyone's suggestions to include in the prize package lol.

I stayed at Mandalay for this reason and was not that impressed.
No question it is the "neatest" however is it worth staying so far from everything for a pool?
I enjoy the pools that are mexico style where people are lounging around the entire thing. Mandalay has everyone on the one end and then it is just your typical Calgary wave pool.

The only advice I can offer to this thread: Don't get blackout drunk and leave your wallet and the dueling pianos bar on your first night there

God I hate/love Vegas.

You can still find some deals on the Strip. I went to the Penguin store and they were having a 30% off sale. Combined with the savings in the exchange rate, I was paying about 40-50% of what's pay in a store in Canada.

Yeah, the outlets are definitely the best deal though. However, the selection there is often limited to the more generic products of each brand.

I will be in Vegas tomorrow. Anybody want me to put some money down on the Flames (or anyone else) to win the Cup?

YYC deals just had round trip inc taxes around 300 to vegas but I think it was for Jan flights only.

I use bookit.com for all my stuff. 500-600 and you have flight and hotel at a respectable place.

You can get to Vegas on Westjet right now for $310 if you time it right. January 18-21 for example is $308.90.

Hotels are dirt cheap too, on Hotwire you can find a 4.5 star condo (probably Palms Place) for $70 a night.

Coupon book can be had for free. You just need to sign up on the Premium Outlets website (VIP program), and they'll give you a voucher.

^^ There are 2 coupon books.
You can fill out that form on site as well for the 1 book however the $5 one has WAY better coupons. When walking into stores I would ask if they had anything in the coupon book and they all had better stuff in the $5 one.

You might be right about getting the $5 one for signing up online but it sounds like that is only the 1 book.

I've stayed at Venetian, Bellagio and Treasure Island. Venetian and Bellagio were amazing, while TI was only so-so. For some reason, the TI casino had a weird smell to it.

I always use priceline.com and hotels.com to bid on hotels last second to get cheap deals. Tip the front desk a $20 and they'll sometimes upgrade your suite or at least at the minimum put you as high in the hotel as they can with strip view.

Dune Buggying: MUST do!

Planning a trip to Vegas with the GF and not sure what hotel will be the best option. A casino on site is not needed since we don't really gamble. We are looking at going the last weekend in March.

I was looking at MGM, Vdara, or Aria.

MGM seems to have the best pools but the rooms appear to be the most dated.

Vdara seems to have the best rooms of the bunch, and no casino means its quieter and is also non-smoking. Of the three though Vdara seems to have the worst pool.

Aria seems the best overall with good rooms, decent pool, and probably the most vibrant and trendy of the bunch.

Any feedback would be appreciated.
