Take it for what its worth but Francis says:

Henry Burris would be open to playing in Edmonton next year. It's there, Hamilton or Winnipeg for him. See my column on slam.ca tomorrow.

I am guessing Hugh Campbell owed a favour to Braley.
Regardless, I am sure Tillman is going after Burris or back to Kevin Glenn, where HB will then go to Hamilton.

hahahaha!! Freaking Eric Francis been reading the CP Forum again. We started joking around about Burris getting traded to Edmonton and now he is starting a rumour that Burris will be going to Edmonton. Hmmmm... i don't think John Hufnagel is that stupid to trade one of their best player in the past few seasons to their arch-rival and most especially the most hated team in Calgary aside from the Riders. If Burris gets move, chances are he will be heading to Hamilton as Kevin Glenn really suck. I just hope if Stamps and Hamilton makes that trade, we won't be getting Kevin Glenn as part of the package. I would settle for Porter instead and someone else or even a draft pick.

Burris will be released...noone will take on that contract. Once he is released he can go anywhere he wants to go...including Edmonton.

I think Francis is actually a friend of Burris. Hank's talked in the past about getting into brodcasting and I've seen him on 'Outlaw Sports' which Francis participates in. Often Francis gets more quotes from him as well for articles. Unlike NHL players, CFL players need to make friends with leech journos for jobs after their playing days.

What was Tillmans history with Burris?
Maybe he made the trade involving Ray, knowing he could get some assets in return and then sign Burris for nothing after the Stamps end up releasing him?

Exactly. I wouldn't doubt if Tillman had this up his sleeve knowing Burris was on the way out. Step in and make a trade before Cgy has a chance to do anything and basically remove their primary trading partner thus forcing them to release Burris.

wow that is smart...of course he must know that Hamilton won't trade for him, otherwise it is a huge risk. Calgary could pull off a trade and all of a sudden Edmonton is stuck with thier current QBs

If that is Edmontons plan then I'd keep Henry.

The real question is why would anyone want to get rid of Ray in favor of Burris. I guess Tillman could end up with a nice little bonus from what he got back from TO. That and he can probably sign Burris for relatively cheap. No way he commands $400k again.
TO package + 1/2 price Burris is better than Ricky Ray? Hard to say.

Even if that is the plan is there any reason why the return from TO has to be so crappy?
Is Shaw any better than the guy they already have Schiavonne (sp?)? Is Jyles any better than random back-up QB that will be available through FA whether new to the league or a NFL cast-off?
If that is the plan I still think the return should have been better and, even though I like Burris, it is a huge risk because there is no way the fans are going to go for that switch so if it fails you are in huge trouble with the fan base.

I have heard from a close reliable source for 2 weeks that the Stamps are working on a deal with Hamilton for Burris.
I don't know he usually is pretty accurate with player info.

Oh please god no. Anyone but Dickenson.
I heard most likely was the guy that left with Lapolice to go to Winnipeg. Name escapes me right now. Was the Oline cood or something under Lapolice.
That or we offered Kent Austin $80 Bazillion and he accepted.

Rick Worman is likely going to be announced as the OC in Saskatchewan.
Also hearing Khari Jones and Bob Dyce for these position too.

I'm ok with Corey Chamblin as HC. Better than Dickenson in my mind. Please no to Rick Worman!

Taman is quite confident Andy will enter free agency, there you have it folks.
"The reality of this is that he (Andy Fantuz) is going to wait until the 15th (Feb. 15, 2012) (2 B a free agent). When I hear a guy say he's waiting to hear who the head coach, translation I want to be a free agent."
