I'm behind on the convo a bit. While Frasier was definitely a highly-rated show, didn't it basically go out with a whimper the last couple years? I remember the series finale being almost completely ignored by media because it wrapped up the same year as Friends. To the point where I wonder if many people even realized it was their final year. Even after the finale you barely heard a word about it. I don't think it had near the popularity during its home stretch as it had its first few seasons.

Anyway, it was understandable. I really enjoyed that show for most of its run, but once Niles & Daphne got together it went downhill fast. (Like most shows it seems) the last couple years were very forgettable.

Worth spending 30 minutes of Lovitz for.

Another show that is very overrated – Conan. After all the crying, mashing of teeth, and overall drama surrounding his spat with NBC, the show he has now is at best average. I’d even go as far as to say that he was overrated before the whole Jay Leno thing, he really doesn’t hold a candle to other late night TV, well mostly just Stephen Colbert.

Not really; it's not as good, but has definitely had its moments since then. I'd say it and Blue Bloods are the only broadcast dramas worth watching right now.

I've always thought Craig Ferguson is a bit underrated as a late night host. I think he's the funniest of them all by far and I watch whenever I can.

+1 for Craig Ferguson. He has been consistently good in everything, and is pretty much the only thing worth watching for late night.

Just looked him up on imdb, I didn't know he was had an appearance in Red Dwarf episode. Will have to find that episode.

This will not be a majority opinion, I'm well aware I'm in the vast minorty, but I can't stand most British humor. I just don't find the "classics" funny. Fawlty Towers and those Python movies, ugh, boring as hell.

In my humble opinion of course.

Conan proved in his week back in NY that he can deliver the best late night talk show. As long as he is in LA, I think he will struggle.

I think Fallon is under-rated. He has slowly gained confidence and fans. Having one the best bands in the world every night doesn't hurt either.

How do you know it is "dreck" if you have never watched an episode?

I'm not sure how to take any of your opinions seriously if you are just parroting some tripe you heard.

I loved that TV show Ed with Julie Bowen and Tom Kavanagh. It was easily my favourite show of the 00's.

I don't know how it was rated, but it didn't last very long, so I assume not very well.

This I was a big Buffy fan, and a big Firefly fan, but I think that Angel was the strongest show out of all of them and gets the most critism.

There were just moments of brilliance right from the first episode "City of" to the last episode of "don't fade away"

There were some deadly serious story arch's but they always had the hilarious episodes like Smile Time for example.

They created some great interesting characters.

Even the villians like Lilah and Lindsay were to extent human, and corrupted and sad.

It was well acted, and well thought out and featured the second biggest FU ending in television history. The first being ALF.

I agree with this- and I include the British Office in this too. If the British Office went onto as many seasons as the American one, it would suck too.

Oh god, I forgot about the ALF ending. That was traumatizing for the primarily child-based audience.

Alf was depressing, but that Dinosaurs show was the most depressing ending to a T.V. series ever created. basically

Spoiler!

The main character causes the ice age that destroys the dinosaurs and everyone dies.

As an addon

The last speech and goodby from Dinosaurs

That is one of the things I like about British shows they appear to be much better at going out a winner.

I especially like those series that may last 5-10 shows and make them all great. Such as Life on Mars and Island at War.

I think I can safely say I hate any show that has some weak plot just so they can create a flashback episode.

Like remember the time...
