I dunno, Casablanca is pretty sweet. Citizen Kane is certainly good for a snore. "Rosebud"....who cares?
You wouldn't say that if you knew that Rosebud was the pet name that Hearst had for his mistresses vagina, the whole movie is a huge eff you to Hearst, designed to be as embarressing as possible to him without any one but him and a few insiders knowing.

I think that Jack Nicholson's Joker does get a bad rap because he's a bit campy. But like Heath Ledger JN's Joker completely stole the show and chewed up that movie and made a decent Batman flick a very good Batman flick. Michael Keaton was a very good Batman in that first movie.
For a long time I really attached Jack Nicholson's Joker to the Joker that I wanted to see since he had one of the great explanation lines of all time for that character.
Joker: I now do what other people only dream. I make art until someone dies. See? I am the world's first fully functioning homicidal artist.
There were a couple of other lines that made his scene stealing Joker a really dark thing as well.
The Joker: [reciting his poem to Vicki] I'm only laughing on the outside / My smile is just skin deep / If you could see inside I'm really crying / You might join me for a weep.
[Joker reads the newspaper] The Joker: "Winged freak terrorizes"? Wait till they get a load of me!

don't get me wrong, Nicholson was awesome as the Joker and totally made that movie. i blame the writers for screwing with the origin story, and for showing him without makeup (that's a cardinal sin for the Joker). my favorite Joker is still Mark Hamill's version from the Arkham games, and Jack was the closest to that out of any of the movies

Didn't Nicholson's Joker put on flesh-coloured makeup to make himself look normal. I thought his skin was the whtie and green.

Well to be fair, The Dark Knight showed The Joker without his makeup very briefly when Gordon got shot.
Kevin Conroy did it first, and frankly it makes sense. What else is Bruce supposed to do? Wear glasses?
The voice is horrible, but it does make sense that he changes it. I just hate that in the movie he still uses that voice when talking to Alfred or Morgan Freeman's character in the Batsuit.
Talking to a baddie? Okay use the crappy voice
Talking to a close friend when you're alone with them? Just use the Bruce voice.
I'm not a big follower of Batman, so excuse me if this has some other meaning to it, but if this is supposed to be the movie where he either dies/gets exposed as the Bat/gets his back broken, or something else that ends darkly, why is it called the Dark Knight Rises? Shouldn't it be the Dark Knight Falls or something?

I posted this in the cool and funnies thead about a week ago, but its awesomeness got lost in the mix. I think it'll be better appreciated in this thread:

I'm going to give this a bump as the opening scene has now been released in theatres.
Can I ask a favour from all of you here on Calgary Puck?
If you post the opening scene, could you do it with spoilers?
I managed to make it the entire period before The Dark Knight without seeing the bank scene. First time I saw it was the night of the movie's release. I'd like to do the same. Seeing the YouTube video there in front of me, might be too much of a temptation, thus spoilers would be helpful.
Thanks

haha good! I remember I started watching TDK 6 min scene and as we were zooming into that building, I closed the video right when the window was smashed!
