Default Iphone 4S Shaw Router Wi-Fi Issues

I'm having issues with my Shaw Gateway and my Iphone. Basically I can see the gateway just fine and it prompts me for my password, but then it seems to take forever to connect and then when it does and it shows full signal it always takes forever to load anything ie: App store if at all. If I turn off Wifi and use 3G its fast and no issues.

I thought it might be a signal issue as there are a few other shaw boxes that I can see with full bars in my condo. I have the channel set to auto and have even tried picking channels. When I go to somewhere else with Wi-Fi I have no issues.

Any Suggestions?

by gateway do you just mean your wireless router? I have this problem sometimes as well not just with 4s but regular iphone. When I am in a place with either low signal / strong wifi or strong/signal low wifi it seems they fight each other for which to use and cause the phone to go incredibly slow

Yeah I meant the Shaw wireless router, I moved the router into the storage/utility room but still get full signal.

You may want to sift through there, odds are if you're having the problem someone else is too.

As for the iPhone, it can connect to N networks, but only at 2.5Ghz, not 5Ghz. Not sure what signal the new Shaw router uses, but you can probably change it and try a few different ones.

Ok, turns out the wireless on my router is just shot. I tried many different things and nothing will connect to it properly. I'm thinking its because I moved to the router to my storage room and it didn't like the temperature in there or something as its not heated. I'm heading to swap for a cisco router (this was an SMC) so I hope it works better and i'm going to move my configuration around a little to keep the router inside.

Electronics like it cool, so unless it is damp as well, there shouldn't be any reason to move it to a warmer place.

Cool yes, but i'm guessing during the coldest times it must have been -10 or so.
