I have spent the past two months being accused of laziness despite my hard work, incoherence despite attempts to elucidate and having no idea what I am talking about. I'm cool with that. People don't get it. I try to patiently explain and they still don't get it. Fair enough.
My friends and I have been called hippies, squatters, bums, spoiled brats and worse and that is also fine. I have a job, I shower often, I work hard to make the world just a teensy bit better and people still feel very proud of themselves for ignoring these facts and continuing to spout ridiculous contempt. No problem. I really don't take that personally, frustrating as it is.
However, a group of people who claim to respect hard work, skill and dedication have just suggested that we take someone else's hard work, skill and dedication and disrespect it, destroy it, anything but accept the gift in the spirit it was given. This disgusts me. This is disgusting.
If I suggested we melt down the Stanley Cup because I personally am sick of hockeymania you would all be feeling quite justified in using whatever choice language you wanted in telling me where to go. I have no problem with criticism. I have a big problem with stupidity and asinine refusal to look past the end of one's own nose.
Our world is in all kinds of trouble. Anyone with half a brain can see that. We condone human suffering daily for the sake of our own greed and this is WRONG. So go ahead and hate. Hate and ignorance are what is killing us all. I think people who wear their hate and ignorance so proudly are probably beyond help.
I came to talk to you guys and some of you were civil and reasonable and I thank those of you who were. People who want to destroy a valuable piece of art work given freely to their city are not worth my time. Nazis did that kind of thing. You are truly messed up if you think it is ok to do so.
Now I really am done. If you would like to criticize my ideas further you know where to find me.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It's perfectly acceptable and reasonable to assume some people, maybe even a majority, might find the statue an eyesore, regardless of its connection to Occupy.
It's actually a pretty lame attempt to circumvent the court order with a permanent symbol, like an obvious inside joke.
Of course your opponents resent the symbolism and want it removed. You had to know that when you dropped it off in the middle of the night. It's basically an upraised middle finger. The city, which not only has to be fair but has to be seen being fair, has no choice but to remove it and bury it in a warehouse or send it back to its creator.
Clingy drama queens.

I'm going to make a life-sized "Fusilli Jerry" and donate it to Mandi, and I will place it somewhere on her property that is convenient for ME, not her. I will then act completely offended when she decides that my 'wonderful artwork' should be removed.

Welcome to human history. I'm not disagreeing with your underlying sentiment here, but seriously, you think this is something new? If anything the average person is less taken advantage of than any time in history. It doesn't mean we stop here, but quit over-dramatizing it.

I really hope that you don't represent all occupyer's. but you've literally given your group a black eye with you're actions on CalgaryPuck and you're ridiculous blog entry here.
Literally a black eye huh CC? I'm just going to say that you might want to give things a proof read before putting a sentence like that in a comment calling other people ignorant
If you repeat a lie often enough, does it start becoming true?
While I would agree that there is all kinds of problems economically in the world, in Europe for example a large chunk of it is created by worker entitlement, Greece for example is drowning in pension benefits, and workers refusing to pay taxes.
The UK is in the same boat.
there is plenty of blame to go around.
But the poor in the developed first world nations are still pretty far ahead because of the safety nets and laws that protect them.
Maybe Occupy should be protesting in the back yards of the protestors in Greece for example.

Nazis also owned dogs and ate sugar. Therefore, every dog owner and sugar eater is truely messed up.
The only sane people in this world are pet hating, black coffee drinkers.
