I'm really not making much sense out of this trade. If there was a CFL video game ala the Madden series the AI GM wouldn't even accept this trade. I am really suspicious of anything Braley related as it's clear he has influence over other teams as he has been known to be a silent lender of last resort over the years when other team have had trouble meeting payroll.

Chill out
Jones to TO was bad for the small penalty, I agree. but the Ray to Toronto....how does it smell like crap? because Toronto is winning the trade? in all fairness, for Edmonton it sounds like they are looking to the future, although Jyles is fairly meh, picking up a first round pick and a kicker. maybe they know something we don't about Ray, or think he is very much on the downside of his career. or he asked to be traded.
there could be other deals coming.
on another note, I look forward to seeing what happens with Burris now

Considering Ricky is still only 32 and coming off a solid season, he still has a lot left in the tank and didn't he just sign an extension as well? Same with Jyles too?
If they wanted a kicker they could've gone after McCallum or called up Calgary, it would've cost much less than your franchise QB.
As it sits right now, this move smells like a conspiracy.

What does Edmonton get out of the conspiracy?
What does Tillman get out of the conspiracy?
If it was BC perhaps you could claim conspiracy but this seems much more like a team that we all knew was going to be very aggressive in getting a QB making a deal with a bad GM that over values Canadian draft picks.
The conspiracy BS just makes way too little sense on so many levels for it to even appear to be true.

What does Edm get out of this trade? washed up QB, a kicking prospect? the only thing worthwhile is the 2nd overall. Give up your starting QB with few years left for a pick makes no sense.
I guess if they pick up another washed up QB in Burris, than Edm can become the official laugh stock of the CFL.

They get a Canadian kicker and a Canadian pick. Tillman loves Canadians so I am not shocked that is all that he got back in return.

So who do they play at QB? you know the most important position on the field (unless you're the Ravens)

Probably some new rube that Tillman has fallen in love with.
It is a horrible deal, but not a league conspiracy just a bad deal by a bad GM.

Doesn't make sense to me. In a league where there are half as many number 1 quarterbacks as there is teams (in an 8 team league, mind you), where you simply cannot win without one, it's just silly.

As a Stamps fan, I love this trade even if Ray didn't have a great record against the Stamps.

The Calgary Stampeders are trying to trade Henry Burris.
Burris has a sizeable roster bonus due on Feb 1st and if he is not traded by then he expects to be released. It is believed the Stamps are having difficulties moving him because of his salary.

The Calgary Stampeders have locked up Canadian-born tailback Jon Cornish. A CFL source requesting anonymity said Monday the Stampeders have signed the New Westminster, B.C., native to a contract extension. Team officials will make a formal announcement at a news conference Tuesday.

These is just plain silly, on the radio tonight in Regina there is a rumor that Kent Austin has been offered a 3 year, $2.25M deal with complete control of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

There is no way the Stamps would trade Burris to Edmonton. He will be released.
