Default My Golden Retriever got his Champion title this past weekend... woohooo!!

He got it one day shy of his 17th month birthday. He beat 13 other Golden Retrievers, at the Calgary Kennel and Obedience Club show (held at the Big 4 bldg on the Stampede grounds) to win Best of Winners and get the final points he needed to obtain his Ch title (he only needed 1 more pt going into this show... he got 5).

My parent's Golden would be Champion of bowling over the smarmy lady in the sweater while eating the plant arrangement in record time, a way more entertaining championship if I do say so myself.

Why do you think she's got a hold of his tail?

I'm actually pretty amazed. I've been around 2 Golden Retriever puppies over the last few years and watched them grow from cute little property destroying puppies into cute big property destroying puppies. Awesome dogs, lots of fun, but I have no idea how you got one to stand still for a picture.

Your dog has the same name as my daughter... even same spelling.

She's 27 months and nowhere near getting a Championship title, nor can she stand still long enough for a picture.

Do you think you can come over and train her?

Auburnmist Maximum Overdrive is a really strange name for your daughter.

How come, no matter when it was taken.... every single dog show photo, looks like it was snapped in 1971?

We call her Ammo for short.

And she works really hard for cheese or juice.

Bring her over this weekend and I'll get the training program started.

Don't feed her though before you come over.... I want her real hungry... they're better food motivated when they're that way.

She doesn't bite does she? Is she house trained? I ain't cleaning up no poop or pee off the floor.
