Where you see riding the Coattails I see the genre going Mainstream. The Electronic/House mixes with dnb is what I find appealing where traditional dubstep like Rusko I find unappealing. Because of this the people that like Traditional Dubstep complain and create a new sub-genre of Dub to represent this new mainstream version of itself.
Hey man, to each their own. I have no doubt the crossover type tracks are appealing to a wide variety of people, just not really my thing.
Don't get me wrong, I'm actually a big fan of house music. But when I listen to dubstep I want it to be dirty and grimy and make all the birds outside my window fly away.

I'll give your dubstep one thing Yanda, it seems to be a perfect music outlet for High Schoollers that want to show off their 15' subs. I downloaded 'Freestylers - Cracks' and played it in my car this morning (Which only features a Bose Factory system) and the bass rumbled so hard I thought I was sitting on a dryer. I couldn't imagine how intense it would have been in a car running a pair of 12s or 15s.
Wow, how many times has Silence been redone? It's gotta be coming up on 50. Perhaps the most remixed song ever. Was at the Tiesto show and he played a mix I hadn't heard yet.
BTW, it's by Delirium, also from Van (ft Sarah Mclachlin). They're kinda like Canada's Enigma. Very cool. Like a lot of 'world music' groups (portishead, etc) they get female vocalists from all over the globe to sing on their albums.
If no one has ever heard the original track, pick it up. And no, I don't mean the original club track.
EDIT: It was the song that put them on the map. I think they actually existed before Enigma, but only after a British dj remixed Silence something like 6 years later, did they get famous.
Post-rock-modern-classic-math-chiptune-disco-metal-jumpstyle-makina-progressive-ambient-freestyle-euro-synth-electro-cybergrind-funky-ghetto-noisecore is all the rage now. Get with the times, people.
Been listening to Dubstep for quite a while. Personally, I'm a huge Hip-Hop fan, so I like the Dubstep with rap lyrics in it and huge bass drops so here's a few. ENJOY!:
P.S., I'm a little surprised Bassnectar hasn't been posted yet.
I'm not sure exactly what constitutes dubstep, but this doesn't really sound like any dubstep I've heard before.
Not a bad song tho.
That's the thing with electronica. Constantly changing and evolving. There's already too many divisions already IMO. Could probably combine a few, especially now that a lot of artists and djs are blending styles.
Music, as a larger group, is the same way too, just a bit slower to evolve. Still, far too many divisions. I mean even for metal you can come up with 15-20 different categories now. Many of which blend with other categories.
