Default The Naaco Truck

I am super excited to tell you all about a new food truck that will be hitting the streets this coming spring - The Naaco Truck brings neo-retro Indian curbside eats without compromising social responsibility. When Naan met taco - a spicy affair began

I'm the chef and owner behind this amazing truck and I look forward to all of CP coming down and munching on my Naaco! When you pay mention you heard about the truck on CP and you'll receive 5% off any combo!

Website: .com
Twitter: @thenaacotruck
Facebook: The Naaco Truck

Please feel free to ask questions (in fact that is what I'd like) - what you like about the trucks (and what you don't), pricing, etc. and I'll do my best to field them.

Thank you all so much for the support and I'll keep this thread updated with progress updates and pics.

(updated menu coming soon)

What the heck does "neo-retro" mean? It would seem like these two terms cancel each other out and its just standard Indian fare?

Or is this something most of us haven't tried before?

Neo-retro is basically a modern interpretation of an old school dish. My menu consists of base flavours most would be familiar with (eg. Butter Chicken) but I'm serving it with condiments, toppings and chutneys that you would not associate with Indian food and in a platform that is a play on the classic Mexican taco - rethought as a naan bread taco.

I have a beef vindaloo naaco, but instead of a deep-fried flat-bread I use naan. So essentially - yes.

Oh my, this could be dangerous.

So you are telling me, you have found a way, to put the delectable deliciousness of butter chicken, in a hand held, convenient, easy to transport, form factor?

You sir deserve a nobel prize for this.

Excellent news, I've added you onto my food trucks list on twitter.

Edit: Naan meets the taco, I think I may be in love!

Pricing is big. Shouldn't be more than $10 for a meal.

It would be epic to eat some Los Compadres tacos and then hit these naan tacos up right after (these food trucks may be the death of me).

Mexican + Indian food fusion for lunch? The 2 most fecal discharge inducing foods on the planet? Jebus, that will be one explosive and less productive downtown core if you are a success.

Will you be offering Dukorol and Pepto to your patrons waiting in line?

I do realize that the Mexican influence will be in name and delivery concept only.

I am excited for this! hand held indian food. Please keep your prices on the lower side. If I am going to be paying 10 dollars for a lunch meal I want to be uncomfortable full. Just do exactly the opposite of the perogy boys

Sounds like the concept "The Spice Coast" was using.

Yeah, that entire sentence needs to be decrypted by the likes of Robert Langdon.

This sounds awesome man! Everytime I go to Moti Mahal, I look at my plate and think to myself, "Eff it! I'm just going to roll everything into my Naan bread and go to town!". But then social convention wins out and I eat it like a normal person. I think you've got a winner, looking forward to seeing you roll around town.

Any insider info on the menu we could see?

Congrats on the new venture and I look forward to giving it a whirl. If you can fill somebody up for $8-10 I'd say you'll become insanely popular. I had a good experience with the noodle bus and alley burger, so I'll basically go wherever they are if they come south of downtown now. I love perogies, but I've heard from way too many people about the cost issue with them, so they don't even get a sniff at this point.
