Italy has never beat Croatia, but they don't play one another too often. I can't wait until Euro

So when Portugal beat Denmark in the qualifying 3-1, did that match not count?

It may have counted, but it didnt help the European Powerhouse of Portugal win the group over tiny little Denmark, and it wont help them again. Portugal arent getting out of the first round in Euro 2012.

Probably true, but believe me, Denmark is the least of their worries next June.

Portugal will beat Denmark, and if they're able to get a result vs the top 2, they have a shot, but no doubt, it will be tough.

I'll take the WC2010 Group of Death over this group any day of the week.

Group B, wow. That's crazy. Germany and the Netherlands make it out of that one. Will bring a smile to my face to see Portugal knocked out early again.

Deutschland uber alles!

Early again? They've made it out of the group stage in every tournament in the last 12 year except 1(WC 02).

Going out at QF in 08 to Germany and Round of 16 in 2010 to Spain are far from embarassing results.

Denmark is one of those teams that plays big teams well and bad teams poorly. They also historically play Germany and Holland well so I think they are very dangerous in that group.

Trapattoni will have a chance to knock the homeland out in the final group game which I'm guessing will decide 2nd place in C. A win in the opening game against Croatia is imperative or else tournament over. Simple as that.

Ingerland get a decent draw but I can see the usual choke job and they don't make it. How stupid is it to pick a base before the draw is even made? 1500km away from where they're going to be playing two games and 850 from the other.

Group A is of zero interest to me and I'll be shouting for Portugal and the Dutch to come out of the group of death.

Rooney's appeal hearing tomorrow which no doubt will be lowered by a game.

I think that group of death at the WC was overrated

Ivory Coast led by Sven were not a threat

Yup. Portugal has been strong in the Euros

They have not only advanced but they have WON their group in the last four Euros (1996-2008). The only team to do that.

I am looking forward to Euro 2012 now more than ever. After an opening qualifier loss at home to Lithuania I was thinking we were not gonna make it. What a way to pull through.
Got the draw I wanted.

The Dutch and Germans should be favourites to win it all, Barcelona arent doing nearly as well as they normally do, the safe money is on Holland and Germany to come out of that group.

As for the tournament itself, my expectations are a little confused. I think this German team is in its prime, but they've been final 4 for years now and I think that will continue, whether they win it all though? I dont know. I think Mario Gomez's current form is going to be crucial, hes absolutely on fire and I think that might see them through. Not to mention, being able to bring Klose off the bench will be huge and Schweinsteiger has really emerged and become dominant. Its still a crapshoot though.

As for England and Rooney; I dont see why they even waste a roster spot bringing him. England should make it through their group, but Rooney is a small game player, when the chips are down he goes home and counts his money. What did he score in the World Cup? One? Not even? Euro 2008? None. 2 in qualifying, 0 in the tournament? Sounds familiar.

They'd be better off bringing Bent or Defoe.
