Yeah looking at Wikipedia they had a full cast of characters and stuff for that, that's pretty unusual as far as audiobooks go.
Most have just the one person reading (or sometimes will have one male and one female). And it doesn't take long to form strong opinions about one guy or another lol, there's times when I've gone out of my way to find versions of a book done by a different guy in cases when there's been multiple versions released.
The Game of Thrones books is a good example, one of them in the middle was read by some different guy and he was terrible IMO. Even pronounced story specific words completely differently.
Abridged books just make it impossible to get anything like depth or characterization or anything else that actually make the book worth caring about. I'd rather just read the Wikipedia plot summary than listen to an abridged audio book.
Otherwise audiobooks are the best thing ever.
