Yeah, I think MW3's multiplayer has taken a step back...MW2 and Black Ops both had better online.
Hopefully they'll release a few bigger, more open maps in a DLC

I'm not very good a multiplayer at all but with Black Ops last year I was decent and I enjoyed my time playing. This year I can barely get any kills, people seem to see me from across the level and kill me quite easily, the maps are so small that after I get killed by someone and spawn that same guy is there and kills me again. I think I'm just going to play the single player and then trade the game in for Battlefield 3.

I'm finishing up the campaign now. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'm finding it an absolute blast so far. Very short, but so many missions that are just really fun to play. I'd only ever palyed World at War and Black Ops before, and this is a lot better.
Not a huge fan of what I've seen from the multiplayer though.
Bought MW3 and BF3 ($40.00 each during sale Future Shop), the campaign for BF3 was almost unplayable and the multiplayer rocked, finding the opposite with MW3.

I can't stand the Russian invasion angle. It's just too fake for the SP to be enjoyable.
At least COD4 and Black Ops operated in a realm (Barely) of believability. MW2 and MW3 have you believe the Russians suddenly are able to sneak in millions of troops to die at the shores of Burger Town.

The story line is ridiculous. However, most video game story lines are. It's really no different than playing a game that invovles space aliens.
Even so, I'm finding the combat a lot of fun. The pacing is great. I love the scenes where your rushing through halways and then blasting groups of guys. Definitely going to pick up MW2. It's SP is even shorter supposedly, but hopefullly I can find the game for under $20 somwhere.

maybe the problem is I play on veteran (as I have since COD1) so the game is no so much about rushing through hallways and blasting through groups of guys but rather hiding behind cover while waves and waves of infinite enemies run into view to be mowed down but as soon as I pop my head up, I die instantly. So the game becomes one in which you have to kill 30 russians before you can advance 3 feet. Then you stop, rinse, and repeat over again until you reach the objective marker at which time the infinite reswpawning enemies suddenly stop.
It made some sense in WWII versions of COD when you are fighting waves of soldiers cresting over a hill but in MW2 and MW3, it happens in almost every street block and every other room. If you don't reach the door, the Russians will just spawn forever and you'll have a pile of 200 bodies sitting there as the Russians are just so determined to capture the dining room.

haha yeah. I beat World at War on Veteran and decided never again. That Heart of the Reich level was enough to make me realize CoD games on Veteran are absolutely no fun. It was all about kill enough guys until you can advance a little and get your squad to advance and then retreat.
Even on Hard, the CoD games are pretty easy, but the jump to veteran is ridiculous. You die way to easily, and the enemies somehow have perfect aim from across the level, even with inaccurate guns. Don't get me started on the grenades.
