For those that haven't done the Thief quest line yet, at the end when it's called Darkness Returns where you've got something and have to and go back to return it...
DON'T TALK TO THE BLUE GUY AND THEN LEAVE! This will leave your quest in a bugged state, and even console commands don't seem to fix it, not that I've found yet.
Huh. What happens if you do? Does it lock you out of the building or something? I blasted through it myself, so I wasn't aware of a glitch.
That's exactly what it does, the door behind the guy is open when you leave the cave, but closed when you come back and never opens again.
You can even tell it's glitched because if you go around the side of the door there's a whole bunch of missing polygons and you can see and walk under the world easily.
Found a lot of others with this issue and the eusp.net wiki warns about it too.
I could progress through the quest with console commands and "finish it" I guess, but I wouldn't get to experience it.
I'll probably leave it for now and hope that a patch comes out.

If you haven't progressed too far, you should have been able to use one of old save files to get back to before starting the mission. Nothing before it was too strenuous in difficulty.
You miss out on picking between 3 awesome powers by the way.
So I was screwing around in a village recently and decided to start firing arrows into the sky. I eventually get a 40 gold bounty and about a minute later, this guard runs up to me claiming that I've broken the law...with an arrow sticking out of his head

So... how do I beat this game? In my long list of quests I have to do, named or otherwise, how do I stop and focus on the main quest? Is it possible? Am I just going to be lost in this game forever? I want to try a different build, but you can't re-roll. Halp! Do I start again, to start a precedent of never finishing this game as I get bored of the build? Oh god. Oh god! Halp!
