Looks like 1Password is offering some free promo codes for both their iPad and iPhone apps. I don't know if posting free promo codes is allowed here but you can find them where I found them on twitter @1Password.

Dropbox for life.

Sears has a Wish Book app. I got it on my iPad, sorely for nostalgic purposes i admit.

When Consumers Distributing releases their app, then I'll get nostalgic...

For KeePass users there's now an iPhone app that can decode KeePass 2.x files.

Called MiniKeePass and it's free.

Not sure if anyone will mind the shameless plug in here but my colleagues released a Canadian shopping app for deals and deals around you.

Check it out and I'll pass on any feedback

I've only played about an hour of Eternal Legacy but it seems to be a pretty decent Final Fantasy 7-style game, if you're into that.

Instacast has released an iPad version, and more importantly, iCloud syncing of podcasts and listening position for episodes.

This is the first app I've used outside the Apple ones that has iCloud integration, and it works really well. This feature displaces Pocketcasts as my favorite podcast app, since I split a lot of listening time between my iPad and iPhone. Well, that and Pocketcasts authors bitching on their blog about losing money for 6 months straight, which doesn't give me a lot of confidence that they'll be around for the long haul.

Brilliant marketing move. I use Pocketcasts and love it... not great to hear. Thanks for the instacast recommendation. Might have to give it a look.

Instacast is pretty good. I don't like the interface as much as Pocketcasts, but its much more of a power users podcast app in comparison - there's more power in the interface for sure.

The Pocketcast authors irritate me - they made waves with their scathing criticism of the Amazon app store (deserved or not, I don't 100% know, there is blame on both sides), they like to discuss how hard it is to make money, and, worst of all, their blog post basically complains that they wrote this awesome podcast app, so how come its 101 fart sounds that makes the big money while they watch from the sidelines. And if it weren't for Android they'd have no sales at all practically.

Oh yeah, and none of them drive nice cars.

I basically couldn't handle the guilt of being one of their customers and causing them to lose money anymore so I jumped ship.

Maybe when they are finally bankrupt they'll realize it was people like me, boosting their products in forums, that could have been the ground swell in consumer enthusiasm to cause them to hit critical mass. Because they really do have a good app. Just lousy customers apparently.

Anybody used IA Writer? It's on sale for $1.99. I always hear positive, but vague, things about it. Apparently has both Dropbox and iCloud support now which would be pretty cool.

Also - this is kind of random but does anyone know of a "note" app that supports textile?

I'm currently using Instacast, and I like it but I don't love it. I don't find it overly user friendly at all. As somebody who tends to side with design over function it's annoying to use. The auto download is nice, but I'm not sure it'll be enough to keep me from going back to pocketcasts.

I was Shazaming a song the other day, and when it found it, it gave me an option to basically see the lyrics in real time. Almost like karaoke. And now I can't get that feature to pop back up when tagging. Anyone know how?

I think you need to put the phone into landscape to get it. Or maybe its only supported with specific songs.
