Was missing the playoffs by 4 points worth it to draft Bartschi?

I always want to make the playoffs, don't even want to get into that arguement.... but getting Baertschi where we did takes the sting out of no totally sucking and getting a high pick and missing the playoffs anyways.

Yeah but missing the playoffs still equals to missing the playoffs, whether it's 9th or 15th place. I guess it does save a few years on your life though by finishing higher in the standings...

Here you go.

First 2 games of the season, 4G, 2A, 6P, +1 before Baertchi was sent down.

When Baertchi was injured 2G, 3A, 5, -5

Baertchi really helps him out by making it much more difficult for other teams to shut him down. This is evidenced by how well he did the 1st 2 games of the season as opposed to the 6 Beartchi was injured in. Rattie seems to be more of a project and more one dimensional.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!! Wait a minute, wasn't Gagner supposed to lead their last group of "kids" to multiple cups? Career high of 49 points (which he got his rookie season).

This organization desperately needs a breakout year from a guy like Sven.

Bring him along properly please, don't rush the kid. I don't care if he doesn't play for CGY for 3 more years, as long as when he does he's been set up for the best chance at success.

If he doesn't play in Calgary for 3 more years, you would care.

That would mean his development took some major strides backwards.

3 years is way too long for Baertschi. The guy will get over 100+ points this year and unless we get a bunch of guys through free agency next year, we'll have tons of spots open for players. I don't see why we'd send him to the AHL next year when he looks to be NHL ready now.

Next year would be his best chance. Put him with Yakupov and bam! haha

Great prospect. Good job by the scouts picking this kid and I am very glad he fell to us in the draft.

He will definitely be a stud on the Calgary top 6 next year. No question about it.
