Good purchase. Don't let the apple lovers tell you otherwise!

At the current prices, they are decent value for sure.

What does everyone think of the inexpensive tablets such as ones from Coby? Looking to pick up 3 for my kids. Running Android 2.3 but it can't be upgraded due to limitations of the hardware. I figure for less than $150 it's not too bad.

Well at this point I don't think I want to put down $180 for a slightly used Nook Color, when I can get the Kindle Fire brand new for $20 more.
Problem is the lack of content in Canada. Only holdback for me right now.

Anyone know of any stores that have got 16GB Playbooks in stock?
ETA: Or even a site that will let me preorder it at $199?

I think you really ought to get a spell checking app first.

Put one on layaway at Futureshop. Then give them your phone number and they call you when it is in.

I am really disappointed with the app selection on the Playbook. Loading 2.0 on it right now, so I can put some android apps on it. Will see how it goes.

I'd be really happy for RIM if the Android integration works well.
Not gonna lie though, a part of me is watching this space for the same reason I watch NASCAR*.
* I don't actually watch NASCAR, but the analogy of why a good chunk of the population watches auto racing fits.

ya, that is the one drawback without question. I don't have a lot of apps that I really want though...I'm not sure what I would really want though. I know its a small selection though.
As for msn you can use im+ for that.

Well I'm having a tough time deciding if I want the nook color or if I want the kindle fire. With the nook color I know I can root it and do with it exactly what I want. Install android marketplace too. With the kindle fire that support isn't there yet. I don't think it is at least.

No Skype, Teamviewer, Netflix (although, thinking about it now - I suppose you could just use the browser?) were the ones I noticed yesterday, as I spend more time with it I am sure I will notice other things I need.

Go to the link Hack posted and register your Blackberry. Be warned though, you lose a lot of Blackberry Bridge functionality, without jumping through some hoops every time. Alternately, you can use DDPB to sideload android apps, but I have not played with that yet.
The listing of apps that are being worked on is here.

Is that list the list of Android native apps that people are testing on the platform?
