				 Riot Potential

So, I am going to Vancouver this Sunday for a week, and while I didn't plan it this way, it turns out I should be arriving at Hotel close to Grey Cup kickoff time. If the Lions lose, what do you think the threat potential of another Downtown riot being. Not as high as the Canucks losing, but still, it's got me thinking. It's been awhile since I've been in a riot, so any advice? I might try to find a Bomber jersey to wear for that day.

I would say low. they *should* have security on high alert to prevent one so close to the last one, but you never know. I will be at the game, wearing my Stamps jersey, and hoping for no riot. I think Lion fans might be a bit better than Canuck fans though

Think of Vancouver as always being on homeland security color yellow. I think it's always on the verge of breaking into a riot.
I would be concerned about a riot if I were in your shoes - if the game becomes one-sided in the second half for Winnipeg, I would bail early personally. If you're insistent on riding it out, it's a definite risk IMO.

I guess the ratio of non Lions fans to Lions fans is a lot higher than at SCF riot where it was probably 99% Canucks fans.

I don't think anyone cares enough about the CFL to riot over it, other than maybe Riders fans.

And even then you wouldn't notice if there was a riot in Regina.

And even then we only throw poop on the neighbor's lawn of our kicker.

And we'd be too drunk to riot.

Did I mention Regina is a bit of a dump? Especially the native ghetto right to the East of Taylor Field. It reminds me of a post apocalyptic Quahog.

I dunno man, they lost back to back grey cups and the only riot I can think of is that idiot who smashed the windshield of a car with an Alouettes license plate on the front.

Yes you did, but it can't be enforced enough.

Taylor Field is basically a ghetto itself

I would think that the chance of a riot is around 0%.
 1. Not enough people care (strongly) enough about the CFL, especially in Vancouver/Toronto.
 2. The Grey Cup brings fans from all over the country, so the crowd will be diluted with enough Bombers fans to disipate much of the anger from the inevitable Lions loss.
 3. There will be a HUGE police presence.

I assume the thread is a bit of a joke and a good one to point out what a crap hole Vancouver is and especially the scum that live there, but just in case there is the slight chance that it is serious I would say the chance of a riot is somewhere between 0 and less than 0. CFl fans are good people and not like the scum of the earth Canuck fans. They have a much more win or lose we booze and have a good time attitude than the scum that cheers for the Cansucks.
Even though you are going to the ahole of the world you should feel safe that you will avoid a riot with the great fans of the CFL there. Even though there will be a ton of Prider fans those idiots are too dumb to understand the word riot let alone start one. Plus their loser team is where flip/cecil is used to them at the bottom of the barrel with zero talent and zero hope.

Dont be so passive. If you want a riot then be the change that you want to see in the world and bring a mask and some molotov cocktails of your own.
Remember, Vancouver condones and encourages non-Canuck fan Anarchists. You wont even be charged let alone serve a day in prison.

Once you torch the first police car the rest should join you just out of habit if nothing else.

The last time a Grey Cup champion was also the host was 1994. This coincides to the last time the canucks lost in the Stanley Cup Final, and subsequently the fans rioted. Harold Camping predicted the rapture would happen in 1994 and then again in 2011. Based on all these happenings, it's safe to say the Lions will win the Grey Cup 26-23 and no riots will happen. Either way, I will be not caring about the outcome of the game.

I lived in Vancouver for 5 years, trust me, no-one there gives a crap about the Lions. CFL football love is pretty much confined to the prairies.

Angry?

I was talking about how great and fun loving CFL fans are.

Don't see any hate in that post.
