You unlock them playing be a pro. As your your card upgrades you unlock the legends. Go to your performance tracker and see your offline be a pro and it should tell you what level your at. Note that only NHL regular season and playoffs count towards your cards. If your playing in the CHL or AHL the games don't count towards your card

Then when you use them in the nhl you play be a pro as that legend.

I started a be a legend with Gretzky. Calgary finally got their #1 center

I was thinking Nail, I have Backlund and Turris as my 1 and 2 centers right now. There both tearing up the league, can I flip the pick for a guy like Larsson or would I still need to add?

How many games did you have to play to unlock 99? I'm playing as a D man, and am in the playoffs of my first season-I don't think I'm even close to unlocking anyone yet. I usually sim the first 2 periods and play the third.

I think you need to complete specific tasks. If memory serves, to get Gretzky, you have to surpass his point total.

You need to just get your Legend 3 card, or full legend status. I think it's 300 games, a grade of A, and some achievements. Win I think 3 or 4 trophies.

The specific tasks, like the 50 goals in 39 games, or his career point total are just for something to shoot for.

Well, I broke my first controller today. Just can't take the versus in this game anymore, the AI is just too broken as is the passing. Luckily I glued it back together and it all works well. The dent in my wall however is another question.

A question for you guys that have played multiple BaP seasons, have you ever been traded? It's never happened to me in the past, but I rarely get through more than a season or two as I usually play every game in its entirety.

I was traded in BAP nhl 11, but haven't been traded in 12, I've heard of players who have been traded while they're still in junior, but the general opinion is that you're more likely to be traded near the start of the season right after signing a high dollar contract.

Anybody want to help me?

I'm about 60 games through the WHL season. It looks like I'll be the #1 overall selection (~110 points or something). I'm taking a look at the NHL standings and it appears I'll be drafted by the Oilers, Leafs, or Senators (Flames are league #2 ). Any way I can crater my rating hard enough so that I don't have to end up in any of those cities for my first contract?

I stupidly did the two years in the WHL option and actually simmed my entire second year. Ended up going high in the second round to the Devils. Was much more interesting then knowing I may go #1....but yes, simming will definitely lower you.

Wait...there's a TWO YEARS in WHL option? How do you get that? I thought the options were "Select your team" "Start at Memorial Cup" or "Start at your draft year"

If you don't make your NHL team after your draft year, or are sent to the minors, you're too young for the AHL and you're sent back to your junior team

As a side note, you can end up playing three years in the juniors if you really stink

I think I made my age of my pro 15 and played a whole season, wasn't eligible to be drafted, then got drafted into the NHL the next season.

If you guys are finding the game to easy. I started a new BaP and I put the difficulty settings on Superstar and game style at hardcore. Then there is a slider titled attribute effectiveness and I turned that up all the way. I went 5 games without scoring a goal and only had 3 points in the 5 games. The AI wasn't as dumb either. Ya'll can try it out for a couple games and see. I found it a lot better, and more fun cause it was a little more challenging.

Playing on the default settings I think I scored 294 points playing only the 3rd periods of games. This setting I had to actually play, and think, I couldn't dance around and hold on to the puck. Goalies were better to as the go to shots rarely, if ever went in.

If you start off in the juniors as a 16 year old then you have to play 2 years in the WHL since you won't be drafted till your 18. That's what I did.

I wish the drafts were a little bit more realistic, with who should be going number one. With an update you think that could easily be done. Would make the drafting alot better I think. Had my draft last night and I was able to pick up Matt Dumba and Nail Yakupov in the 7th round as there were projected to go undrafted yet there going top 5 in this years draft.

I played a game in GM mode last night against the Canucks, and I knocked Booths helmet off 6 times in one game

I rig them so they result in drafts similar to the real ones
